I don't care about graphics at all (I play dwarf fortress!) so that didn't matter to me, and so far (a few hours in) I'm enjoying it a lot.
It's truly unique in so many ways. Can't wait to see where all this goes. |

Have you found the brothers mother? Supposed to be in the cave with the robots, got the activation code but there is next to nothing on the 2nd floor :/

Holy crap. And to think I was gonna pass up on this game.
Just played about an hour so haven't seen much but what I saw I liked a lot.
The music is pretty sweet, the whole world indeed has a very shadow of the colossus type feel to it (and in my opinion the gfx aren't that bad).
Wish I had more time for games these days. Freaking university, eats my time like a fat kid eats chocolate...
Anyway, seems pretty sweet if it keeps that way (or, behold, gets better) I might even consider buying it once I have enough funds at hand.

I bought a PS3 and Demon Souls based on some of Two Bell's review of Demon Souls. I wll give this game a go based on his praises as well.
1 stripe purple belt in JiuJitsu (good grief this takes FOREVER hahah)

25 min in its like devil may cry mixed with bayonetta
1h in its like monster hunter with fetch quests
1h 10min in is like ico when you see the map design
1h 20min in oh a machinegun-like-book
1h 25min eehh the music is so hypnotic
2h so its now like Samurai 3 with maps design of shadow of colossus
4h i can now side step, craft, fish, mine,farm,plant,mount a boar
6h that hot chick its a.... GUY NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

i am feeling like i am playing a open world bayonetta mixed with gothic with a guy, doing terrible fetch quests like in Samurai 3 (find cowered in crap underwear for some old fart) with maps similar to shadow of colossus, dunno why i am still playing maybe this hypnotic music makes this game playable like it was in the case of legacy of kain ... and the story i a mix bag of bore with only added taboo plots to spice it up just like in they last rpg game from 2003 Drakengard and 2006 Drakengard 2 ( it featured such taboo plots as incest, pedophilia,questionable sexual orientations, perversion,pedophiles,killing children and so on) or Fallout

oh oh
It's NOT Demon's Souls, that was a straight 10/10 and the game isn't for everyone but I love it because I love action adventure's/rpgs and has the most amazing new game concepts.
I stand by tb's 7.5 score.
I laugh with the people who have poured hate onto the game but are playing it non-stop

Soundtrack out on 21st April
The full album will have 2 cds from Nier & Nier Replicant. Also those who pre-order Nier Replicant (PS3) or Nier (xbox360), will also get a mini album cd with their own ver.

heheh yeah the bomb stuff kinda surprised me...
it's not as cool as the 'rules' in some rooms later. there's like a bunch of different challenges with special rules for each one (no jumping, no magic, no dodging, no melee)
it's awesome. lol
great news that the OST is coming, tb, thanks.
Didn't see anything about that preorder offer though.. at least not on amazon or shopto.
Maybe it's not valid in europe?

im stuck trying to get over a wall /onto a broken ladder using a block i can push....about 20 mins into the game....i was drunk at the time and not being able to get over that wall put me off a bit

 Spoiler: | This game isn't particularly hard on Normal, but its not fun to have been fighting a large monster, then a part of it inside the library, in other words used up all my HP-medicine. So I start the fight (with the book) with low HP and no medicine. Great. And when I think iv managed to kill it, it gets 1/4 of the HP back and are in a fucking shield. |

I'm I think...13 or 14 hours in now, not too far ahead of you there, and I don't really see the conclusion coming yet.
according to some people on gamefaqs it's about 15 hours... so something should happen soon.
I skipped some sidequests though and it seems you can spend a lot of time on those.
there's also the thing with everyone saying you won't understand too much after the first playthrough and need to play it at least twice. I wonder what that's all about.

some other guy says he's 51 hours in... apparently it takes a lot of time to get some specific ending. interesting.

Im confused, some says its great, compares it to shadows of the colossus feeling, and then gave it a 7/10 score... and everyone seems ok with that... I dont have much time to play, so... i need someone to confirm if its a great game or just an ok game to kill time.
