They could have planted some trees, that would have got them some much needed good publicity
Any idiot can tell this move is about Ubisoft saving money, not the environment, probably to pay for the online servers needed to play their damn games
I have some relatives that have consoles but no internet, guess they're pretty much screwed then?

ubi is punishing their customers once again but hiding behind the 'gone green' bullshit, why don't they go green on something like their cars or PC's THEY USE, not the stuff they sell.
I personally love boxes and manuals, next to my computer desk is a bookself that fits perfecly under the and against the end of the my round table and it shows off all my PC game boxes and inside them -YES are manuals that all have been read and sometimes get pulled out by myself or the kid. good crapper material for me, good colored fantasy pictures for her.
fuck ubi, i never am buying another of their products, i do not like the route their going and obviously they arnt dont pulling these shit stunts out of their asses.

/shrug.
This might matter if this was like 1998-2001 ish with manuals like the Homeworld, Ground Control or the BG2 manual which were as close to encyclopaedic in nature which made you feel like you took a course in Historiography.
Not printing a 5 page tutorial, 1 page showing you where the buttons are on the god damned control pad or even the keyboard is the perfect example of cutting unnecessary crap. Let them spin it however they want, good move.

or would you say that only when a game sucks you blame the publisher, but when a game is good the publisher has nothing to do with it? |
Usually this is the case..

aren't you selling them a little short?

Huhh? I think he is about right. As for the list you made: there are some good games on that list, as said: about 2-3 or so. Some decent ones, and some that I havent even heard of, even though i've been playing games for the past 20-25 years.
So how many good games did they make? It pretty much depends on your level of standard. How high do you set the bar.
Oh and we can also skip titles like HoMM V, that only belong to UBI because they bought the rights to the series, but differ in almost no way compared to its predecessors.

and about the manuals? who cares... didn't read manuals in years.

See, thats the problem. When a game has so little, when it is so shallow that you can figure it out all by yourself in a few minutes, then sure.. you do not need a manual to tell you how to play it. Especially since all it would contain is:
1) Press Start
2) Keep mashing A or B while holding the directional keys for movement
3) Win game.
