I made the mistake of reading page 1 of 2. It doesn't really talk about the game from a "how does it feel" point of view, it's mostly about the story for the first 6 hours of gameplay.

Spoilertastic to say the least.

The only real mention it in one place regarding the gun mechanics..

Quote:
They're (the gun mechanics) not too far removed from those in Grand Theft Auto IV, though naturally a couple of year's hindsight has certainly helped tighten them up and the addition of Dead Eye – Red Dead's own take on bullet time – keeps them feeling fresh.

I actually pre-ordered the limited edition version this morning. Very unlike me.

Some texture pop-in and non-rendering objects were something of a blemish in the build we saw, as were a couple of technical issues that made a few missions a little harder than they needed to be. Hopefully Rockstar will use the time between now and then to sort out a few of the game's lingering technical issues, and we'll be cleaning up the West in a few short weeks.

bit late to be fixing engine related stuff now I would think Sad Apart from that, it sounds awesome

ofcourse its too late for fixing that stuff. gamespot acts like they have no clue about game development. console games get mastered month or even few months before release day (just check 360 isos for master dates). they can still release patches post launch but they will be just minor bug fixes.

Wrong. There's plenty time still. Plenty of games has gone gold just days before release date and still made the deadline. Second, it might have been weeks ago that gamespot actually played the build. It takes time to plan and write articles.

It's a pirated version... not original disc hence the problem.

what? and i always though you where smart, guess not
this movie shows the problem that Azzman talked about and its named "streaming data from disc" on a console without HDD streaming sucks hard and you see it (same if you have a Benq drive in your xbox360), but when you add a HDD this game uses HDD cache to store more data (it helps with slow DVD reading)

Thats why my dear old Garus they changed the DVD drive to liteon and thats why they added the "Install to HDD feature" to minimize the damage the Benq slow data streaming (loading games etc...) has done, new Liteons are the most advanced dvd reader available, they don't have this error

Now the question here is on what xbox did they played this game and if it worked from a HDD

You just wasted so much time on explaining something I know, I do own Xbox Rolling Eyes
FYI I did have problems in reading GTA 4 from burned disc on my old Sammy, so tell me. One drive works better with copies where others don't. Why is that?

Reading depends on five things :
1. flashing speed locks the drive to read in only one speed 8x or 12x this causes errors reads with data located in the lower parts and bumped by padding data upper parts (new IXT1.61 and LT1.1 have this lock removed)
2. Hdd cache as explain above (now you can use USB sticks with the new update, you can clean it with the maintenance mode but be aware it also deletes all updates)
3. laser lifetime/failing
4. laser calibration
5. laser motor and the spinner motor errors

to answer your drive question well, we have to analyze why they did change the drive :
Hitachi - constant laser failures and spinner motor errors (magnet detached itself making "silver ring error")
Samsungs - constant laser calibration errors (error reading new media made by the spinner motor vibrations) , open tray errors
Benq - lowered the spinner motor vibration to lower the calibration errors but this made the drive read slower , changed tray and magnet to remove the silver ring error
Liteon - they somehow found a way to have high reading speeds with no vibrations errors (must read more about them to know how)

yeah Razz shame on you garus Laughing
we are still talking about this game deelix, well mostly about the problems that Rockstar engine has with map streaming and jugging that he didn't lie in the gamespot preview, Red Dead Redemption has the same problems like Midnight Club LA and GTA4 had (if you played them from the dvd)

so now we are talking why those problems came and how to eliminate them
