I used to follow the PC trend but found I couldn't be arsed to read up about the bizarre naming conventions on graphics cards and chips. Far too much research to do before building a PC and for half the cost of a decent graphics card, I'll take the console any day.

Back on topic, Digital Foundry ran an article on Alan Wake and its Sub-HD content. It's vaguelly interesting if you care about graphics.

That's complete bollocks. I have a 4870X2 for almost two years, and there hasn't been and the only games that I can't play at my native resolution (1920x1200) are Crysis and Metro, but these look so much better than anything (aka console ports). My CPU is even older, three and a half years.
And lets not talk about how I can play 1080p material on my PC as I please, encode on it, program on it, download on it, write my documents on it, use it as file server, etc.

Not yet, waiting to see what these "slim" models are. It's not officially sold here, so if it overheats, I have no ground to replace it. Sad

buy a used one for half price get a year warranty and replace whenever it breaks

Its looking like a fake as the filesize seems overly large (7.42Gb).

I tend to believe a fair portion of those are reviewers copies, although truthfully I have no idea if those copies are full games that are achievement-capable or they in some other way avoid posting the achievement gains.

How can you possibly know that there will be a release so soon. Game isn't due out for another 3 weeks almost. You won't see a release for at least another week or two

UK rls date is 14 may. Maybe not a RF/US rls, but a PAL rls will definitely be out in a week, tops.
