What's Spirit?
Spirit is an untethered jailbreak for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch on the latest firmwares.
Spirit is not a carrier unlock.
If you currently are using a tethered jailbreak, you have to restore to use Spirit. Do not upgrade if you use an unlock on an iPhone 3G or 3GS. (You can, however, restore to 3.1.2 if you have SHSH blobs for that version.)
Requirements
Any iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch on firmware 3.1.2, 3.1.3, or 3.2.
An activated device: one not stuck on the Connect to iTunes or Emergency Call screen.
Any version of iTunes 9 (including 9.1.1).
And the benefits?
*Enable Voice Control on the iPad
*Proper scaling with iPhone apps on iPad
*Send SMS through the iPad (Not released yet tho)
*Cracked apps

Wow thats pretty freakin awesome news! I currently have a tethered jailbroken 3GS iPhone via Blackra1n and until I restore I cant jailbreak with Spirit. Kinda sucks! I have a hell of a lot on my phone and I have no backups so I am going to lose a hell of a lot too! ...

Tethered = need to jailbreak each time your device is turned off or rebooted
Untethered = jailbreak one time then reboot and turn off as much as you want

Ah, goddamn, that makes sense now...
I thought tethering was the ability to let another device connect to 3G through your phone, like connecting your PC through phone to access 3G network.
Then I thought it had something to do with whether it was "tethered" to your carrier or not, then I had no fucking idea.

i has ipod 3.1.3 and i wants ti jail breeak but i no has backup
is it like redn0w where youre jailbreak it easily and still save media or no?
