nice. good work.

Its days like this I should sort out remote access to my PC. Will start the dl when I get home, watch Iron man 2 and then all being well, test myself.

Could be a good week for games, too many to play and not enough time (e.g. this, skate 3 and potentially RDR)

Not on j-tagged machines, there you can get a nice fancy custom menu that indexes all your games on your usb or internal hdd plus emulators and other sorts of homebrew.

Not that I fully understand it but I guess it's either that new firmware update that allows USB disc storage (Only 16 GB though.) or JTAG hack with USB functionality instead of using a disc.
(Apparently only works on certain XBox models and before certain updates due to various changes and it might require a bit of soldering on the X360 hardware instead of just flashing the disc drive which seems to be the normal way to do it.)

EDIT: Epsilon already answered.

Is it good? Cause when i watched the beginning of the game with the developer walktrough it was kinda lame, weapons falling out of the sky and some light talking to you. Sad

Yawn? We had loads of fake releases... at the time it could have been another. Surely you get annoyed with fake releases being plastered everywhere all the time?

mmm, installing to my 360's hard drive as I post this.

I've been a die-hard PC gamer for two decades now, and although I wish Alan Wake would come out for the PC, I'm still thrilled that I can play it now. Been waiting for this for years.

The game is very atmospheric with excellent use of sound effects (especially 5.1) and colour palette, the controls are easy to use, responsive and uncomplicated.
Both the games mechanics and approach reminds me of a superior Silent Hill.
Getting good fps, the camera swings around you and the environment as fast or as slow as the analog sticks pressure allows while the movement reminds that's it's you in control rather than on a semi-auto linear-railed track.
The light sourcing has been well thought out as befits a premium title enhancing the overall appeal of your experience.

One of cool environmental features is that a lot of scenery is interactive in that it moves when you touch it, as well as non interactive but malleable objects like trees blowing in the wind or brushing up against a bush which will move according to the pressure you apply.
You might say "ah that's been a fundamental feature of games for the last few years" but it hasn't not really, a lot of supposed triple AAA titles feature bland non-interactive environments so i am pleased to see they took the time to include it.

The interactive cinematic effects are well designed with a nod to Hitchcock/Condemned and while creating a tense feeling never feels overbearing.
Ok, the prologue has walked me through how light is used as a weapon in this game and was very clever by using the old Oblivion trick of dark restricted spaces opening up to wide open visages in the first chapter.

tb's shocker fact # 47: Some game play elements are better than Heavy Rain.

This game is going to be a major classic, finally a grown up's game.
Here is a creepier version of The Candy Coloured Sandman from Blue Velvet:

I think im gonna feel sorry for those of you with 2.1 sound.

I really want to be scared by this game. Dead Space almost did it for me, but became more of an action game after awhile.

With dead space I browned my pants, with 5.1 or not... Think with these kinds of games, a dark room and imagination is really what pulls you into these games... Oh and a house without a girlfriend asking you to do something every 5 minutes :O
