The problem is ATI was a card for game developers and graphic designers some idiots thought it was a good idea to start using them to game and ever since than ATI users have bitched and whined about all the problems they have.
Solution, stop being a hipster and buy a fucking nvidia card already or go buy a mac and complete your circle of idiocy.

Technically it's already available as with the uPlay extras like Scar-H or Infiltration game mod (Unlockable via "points" similar to achievements gained via LIVE.) and the weekly extra content. (MP7A1 and proxy mines.)
As long as it doesn't touch the EXE it should work, from what I can see nearly everything patched is part of the system files and not general game data.
(EXE, various DLL's and similar, about 20 or so files all in all.)
(If Skidrow uses a launcher or similar it should work fine as it leaves the files unaltered.)
EDIT: Perhaps some inbuilt check if that's what happens.
(Unsure how Skidrow managed to crack it, might be difficult if Ubisoft changed stuff.)

The link I posted still works for me and shouldn't have any problems but I've read on other sites (Where I took this from originally.) that some people also had issues accessing it.
You could try the gu.exe file or similar in the game folder where the main game exe is, it's the launcher program that first checks for updates and prompts to download and install them before starting the game exe and that should allow for the patch to download.
