I wonder if steam will keep it's 1:1 ratio when it comes to US/EU currency if the euro drops way below the US dollar?

I wouldn't be surprised if they "adjust" the pricing if that happens...

Why wonder? The Euro would have to drop 25 cents before it would even be a problem... unless there's some kind of apocalyptic financial crisis in Europe right now.

Well I dont think it's steam/Valve fault. Mainly it's UE socialist contries (soon comunist - Greece bailout is the shit) with their VAT tax... (there is no VAT in USA)

I wonder how long western countries are going to stay with their "lets have bigger debt" politics. Thankfully I am sure that we will have mass country bankrupcy in next decade and USA is just going to be next with their new healt care.

A proxy wont work, you have to make a new account(whit a proxy) and buy the game and gift it back to your old account.

I bet that if the dollar strenghten and the euro weakens they will change the 1:1 principle. In fact I'm quite certain of it. By the way I'm not paying 90€ for a computer game within the next five years.

Well if you red my previous comment - the'll have to change it in order to accompansate for higher taxation (like VAT) in EU contries and they have to pay that taxes in order to maintain legal buissiness in EU.

UK has VAT as well - how do you explain the disparity between it and euro countries then?

well overall the taxation in UK is one of the lowest in EU, and definitely lower than in the "core" Euro countries (Germany, France, Italy and Spain):

We are well known for having extremely high taxation and prices.
