Hey I read that there is a silenced shotgun only available when pre-ordered, which I didn't, but I want to try it out. Does anyone know any other way to unlock it?

Seems you are right.

However it'll probably be unlocked sometime later on with those weekly weapon addons that have been released so far, the G2 rifle was previously part of a pre-order deal for example.
(Apart from this shotgun that leaves the Mp5SD and that other SMG and maybe the SC-3000 rifle or what it was called all of which are part of the special edition.)

The game is still a crashfest like no others, it crashes like 10 times last night over an hour of gaming...any known causes for the "file.exe, illegal operation, terminated, etc"

Does update 1.02 solve any lag/stutter/sluggish control issues for ATI users? I have a 4870x2...

I have a 4870 (1GB) and I couldn't experience any improvement in terms of lag/framerate; don't know if things are different for the X2 though

The game hasn't crashed on me yet, knock on wood, but I think it's pretty fun overall. Nowhere near as good as the old games, but I'm still having fun playing for free. I might have bought the damn thing if not for the fucked up DRM.

This just makes me want a new Hitman game. Now that was a real stealth game (that and the Thief series). I'm really eager for a new Hitman though. Stealth games kick ass. I wish there were more of them.

Sounds like your lag issue is an ATI problem not the game. I also have an e8400@3.0ghz and a 9800gtx+SC and I get no lag on max settings with AAx2. Played the whole game threw without any hitching or slowdowns.

IK bought it & I'm dissapointed. The sp is way too short, every movie is very laggy, but no lag ingame. The story is predictable & I don't unsterstand why this game got a rating around 9.2 (IGN) & co.

Ironically,my 2 (or is it 3?) years old laptop handles Conviction better than my desktop..it runs at 1280x800,every low or off,but it didn't crash once...some horrible frame drops here and there but hey, it's an old core2 with an 8600GT on it

Let's see if i can fix the desktop crashes with the newest Ati drivers now

I played through it twice, had a single hard-freeze on the airport hanger level on the second play through. Running @ High, 1920x1200, no AA. System specs: E8400 Duo Core @ 3.00 GHz, 4GB RAM, 285 GTX on 197.45 drivers, Win7x64 Ultimate.

The drivers (yes,10.4) fixed the crashes as well as the slowdowns during the loadings, though the frame rate didn't really improve during normal game sequences but I'm fine with it, at least I can play it now

Drivers can't really do much for this game. Perhaps improve performance a little in Crossfire/SLI environments, but ultimately, it is the engine that is at fault for this awful performance (taking into consideration how mediocre the game looks). Smile

Well Only ATI users have had frame rate issues in this thread sounds like driver issues to me since everyone with a nvidia can get good frames. Like I said before this is an ATI issue not the game it self.

Take a look back, there is a dude with a 9800GTX (or two of them not sure) that can only run the game at 15fps max. Laughing

The 10.4a fixes all the issues.

I've only seen claims "it runs smooth" etc. with no framerate data except for a douche here or there who post no proof of their supposed 60fps flat framerates.

I could say it runs slow as hell when I'm getting 30-50fps in large areas, or I could say it runs smooth at the exact same framerates. See where I'm going with this?

I would take what Prey says as fact, he's not one to bullshit. Besides, my frames range from 30-60 but never have I dropped to anything like 15fps. Just watch who your calling a douche.

What really kills gameplay for me is that when you turn into a view with more objects/lower fps, the mouse speed drops aswell making aiming really hard.. Do 10.4 fix that crap aswell?

Totally agree. Stealth was next to impossible compared to prior versions. Yeah you can sneak but having to kill just about everybody to get the job done made for NO fun.
