Ello guys, ive just brought a 8gb iphone for £50  i restored it back to factory settings because it had all his numbers and shit on it. But since ive restored it back , its wiped off the jail break, so now its not recognising my sim. ive downloaded resn0w etc to be able to jail break it, but its asking for a ipsw file which i havnt got. Any ideas the best way to jail break it again? thx guys

Jailbreak is for piracy and apps rejected by Apple. What you want is unlock. I don't know anything specific though, don't own an iPhone.

also the IPSW files are located here http://www.hackint0sh.org/f127/22056.htm these are original firmwares and shouldnt violate anything.

wierd, just tried the blackra1n program, it went through ok, said it was complete and that the phone will reboot, but it doesnt

just trying that spirit program, i get this error

Spirit does NOT unlock, it just jailbreaks. Your iPhone will still be locked to it's original carrier even if it succeeds.
Learn the difference.
EDIT: I think the tool you need is RedSn0w, not sure though.
EDIT2: blackra1n does not work with 3.1.3 anyway.
