Trust me; the world is much better off with a ruling class the people can remove by voting, than say generals, priests, kings or anarchy. We have a few thousand years of empiric data and I'd say the common man is better off with politicians that are accountable to the people.

Much better? The problem is, that you compare bloody handed dictators to ideal democracies. Cool, an ideal democracy is a lot better than a dictatorship.
The average democracy is far from ideal and a badly functioning democracy only differs from mild dictatorships in its outside. Inside it is very similar. |
You're talking out of your ass sir. I got a masters degree in political science and I've never heard of the term ideal democracy before. It sounds like you think liberal democracies is something utopic, something Plato would describe as ideal as in his notions about the ideal state and thus unobtainable? (ref: Statesman). Well if you do I got news for you: Every western modern democracy is based on liberal rights and ideas and is by definition liberal democracies.
Disclaimer: That does not include many of the former eastern european communist states not excluding Russia. Anyway you were refering to Germany and that is very much so a liberal democracy. How someone would want a germany without politicians is retarded enough as it is considering their history. Enough said...
Second you say I compare "bloody handed dictators to ideal democracies" (whatever that means) as a response to my argument, that any system where the people can throw it's current rulers is better than a system without politicians. You don't make any sense. What kind of a democracy are you talking about then? The kind where the majority of the voters can't throw those in power? That kind is by definition not a democracy. I don't think you fully understand the concept of a democracy.
Thirdly you say the average democracy is far from ideal and here I must agree with you, but even though it's far from ideal, it's still lightyears better than the alternative. At least for those not in charge that is, as I'm sure Kim Yong-Il kinda like the alternative to a democracy best as long as he's the alternative. You have no clue about what you're talking about when you say there's no difference between a democracy and a dictatorship. Humanity, or should I say Europe and USA has spent several hundred years evolving into it's current state, millions of peoples has died to fight feudal and autocratic rule in the process.
If you still want to keep this discussion going I recommend you create a new topic in the general area and put a link here. We've strayed enough off topic as it is.

ditto
this is probably the most unfinished game i have ever played
just play sh3 + gwx and you'll enjoy it a lot more
there's a few nice things like updated graphics and the entire sub interior modelled but it's just not worth it

Does not matter really. SH5 got torpedoed by UBIsoft the day it was released and is now resting somewhere on the bottom of the atlantic ocean. Reading the official boards its quite clear that this patch is far from being enough to patch all the leaks through which this game is taking on water.
I just hope someone (that is someone OTHER THAN UBI) will make a correctly working SH6 eventually.

over at cs.rin site couple people worked on Silent Hunter 5 v1.20 Crack (NO values included!!!)
It works for both XP / Win7 BUT you still have to manually edit text files to continue campaigns.

It's impossible to fix this game. SH5 sends the real game data to the server, not just generic 'values' like in AC2 and Splinter Cell.
