i havent used my psp for a loooooooooooong time... im still on 5.00 m33 cfw
anyone either tell me here, or point me to a reliable link that'll tell me what i need to know on how to update to the latest stable cfw? you know, whatevers the most reliable, and will let me know exactly what i need and what needs to be done so that i can get my old phatty psp up to date. thnx.

5.00 m33-6 is the most reliable, stay on that. If you aren't on update 6, use an update to that. Most games play fine, some need to be patched/decrypted. You can download them prepatched for M33.

still 5.00? nothing later? did progress on cracking later fw versions grind to a bit of a halt or something? hard to believe after however long its been since i updated, that 5.00 would still be the most workable version out..

Sony has changed 6.xx firmware a lot, even if it's cracked, it's not useful for homebrew. And the developers don't want to support piracy.

k well thanks for the quick update anyway. i can see m33 patched games, so ill just grab update 6 and see if any decent psp games have been released in the last 15 months

You can also play pretty much any PSone game. For example, I'm now playing Final Fantasy 7 (which I've never finished) and Air Combat (the first Ace Combat game)
