So has it been confirmed for the PC or is the announcement that the PC version has been canceled legit?

In the PAX East Panel video from this past week, the devs confirmed that Dead Space 2 is in fact shipping for 360, PS3, and PC. It's a PC game.

They built that suit for especially touring the gaming conventions and the cool thing is that it fully works. It has moving hand and leg flaps and instead of rocket boots obviously it shoots out jets from the nozzles. the suit looks SWEEET.

Shows the suit here and talks about it http://www.gametrailers.com/episode/gametrailers-tv/88&ch=2&sd=0?ep=88&ch=2&sd=0

The Dead Space 2 devs already confirmed at the PAX conference that Dead Space 2 is very much a PC game and anyone from EA who says otherwise is an idiot.

Sadly, it isn't just the trailer

But despite of this, as long as they don't include superpowers and the mark'n execute feature, I'm pretty sure that the game won't be a fail.
There will be an advanced genre of bullet time though. Laughing

The only thing I disliked about the first game was the story... it was basically just one fetch quest after the other, very repetitive. Hope they make up something more developed story-wise this time around.

Oh, thanks for the heads up Smile

I've found something good for us, PC gamers..

E3 2010: Dead Space 2 PC controls are sorted, promises Visceral

Quote:
Dead Space 2 developer Visceral has promised CVG that the PC version of the game won't face the same control issues as its predessesor.

Many PC gamers told us they experience some juddery controls when playing the game with a mouse and keyboard - something usually put down to a problematic port of the console game.
Visceral exec producer Steve Papoutsis told CVG that the studio was aware of the problem - but recommended PC gamers use a joypad with the second game.

"Yeah - we've heard that feedback," he said. "That's something we're focused on trying to improve. Not to sound snarky, but with Dead Space, honestly, the way we're playing it is with a gamepad. Even if you're a PC guy - if you have one - stick [your pad] in your PC and play the game with that.

"That's the thing when we're working on it that we have every day and we have readily available. But this time out we have people dedicated on working to improve the controls for PC players.

"Out of the box, we're hopeful the PC version this time will respond a lot better and that people will be a lot more comfortable and happier with the controls. That is feedback we've heard and we're certainly trying to address it."

So there you have it. Good news. Let have a party. A PC party.

This gameplay video confirms what has been said in the last days: Dead Space 2 will contain much more action than the predecessor. A good thing or a bad thing? You choose..

I see it similar to the jump from RE 1 - 3 to 4 - 5, probably not a bad game but somewhat different approach.
(Probably there's a better comparison somewhere as DS1 wasn't that slow paced but it'll have to do.)
