Hey , Im having problems booting up games on the PS2 Any game im trying to put in just takes the PS2 to the browser screen My PS2 has the Swap magic mod , the swap magic disk also wont read. Ive got the old black Ps2 (not sure what version) The Problems started when trying to load up GTA : SA (Worked fine before) into the PS2 with swap magic it would just display the red bars (wont load) after that i tryed a real copy (MGS2 and Wipeout Fusion) same problems. It sounds like its reading the disc from what i can hear. Everything looks fine but i dont know what the problem is... Maybe the laser is begginning to burn out. Lots of people had problems playing gta:sa on their ps2s. I'd recommend trying to clean the laser and see if that helps. (don't know how, try googling it)

have u cleaned the lens ? ...u can also adjust this but try cleaning it first I looked up "gormless" in the dictionary, it said "without gorm" .... so i looked up "gorm" but it wasn't there ????

Ive tryed cleaning it , still the same problems but now when i put the games in its just a clicking noise and i dont think that would be caused by the laser? I'll prob need to get one of those lens cleaning kits give that a go and then see if that helps? But is there anything else that could be causing the problems? Well I've tryed everything , still the same problems Anyone got any suggestions? Thanks for everyone thats tryed to help so far.

Well a googled around a bit and found this site : http://arstechnica.com/articles/paedia/hardware/ps2.ars/1 Might give that a go seeing as there is nothing else to try and get this thing to work! Thanks again for trying to help.

Thanks , i think that site is much better I'll take a look into it.. The other site i was looking at didnt really have clear images of that white cog but the one you gave me is better.

I had to adjust the lens on my ps2 before you should normally be able to tell if somethings up as it will read gold disks fine silver disks with trouble but blue discs would be extremly difficult to load took me 40 mins to sort mine out cleaned the lense and adjusted the lens piece of cake.....now if only i could remember the url of the site with the step by step instructions.

Well , its not reading a single disk at all and ive adjusted the laser countless times its not reading at all. I even tryed adjusting so much the CD tray got jammed lol... I'm just gonna buy a second hand PS2 and then rechip it, I cant be bothered fukin it up anymore lol Thanks for everyone thats tryed to help.
