Could be that they demo'ed both versions on that same big-ass screen - of course you wouldn't notice differences if it had a max. reso of 720p or something. Of course PC version will look better; if the devs are lazy and don't have sharper textures, at least we'll have superior resolution and better view distances etc. And as you know texture packs by modders can be fantastic, too Wink

Who's in your avatar ?

Marco Ferreri, a great italian director and one of my personal favorites.

You may know him for his masterpiece La Grande Abbuffata (La grande bouffe).

Erm, it didn't seem anything like Oblivion at all to me.. Only the green ass landscape resembled Oblivions.

If anything it felt like a Gothic clone.

well two worlds 1 was one of best looking games at a time , and they kinda went with " OMFG OUR ENGINE IS SO MUCH BETTER AND PRETTIER NOW " i have hard time to believe its gonna be identical .. i mean if you play from 5 meters on 30+ screen you might not see dif..

they might used lower rez too.. or just were asked to say it looks the same .. who knows

Well the first game was kinda fail on the X360 using drastically lowered settings (EDIT: And initially it still ran very bad or rather stuttered based on various sources, HDD install would probably have helped back then if it had been a option.) which the user (If he was aware about it.) kinda had to fix himself by taking down the console (Must be a first for console games.) and use various commands and tweaks.

Might be better optimized this time around though (First game was OK after 1.5 to be fair.), first had it's fair share of flaws and issues though if pushed further via those commands again it could keep up pretty well with more recent titles as hardware improved.
(PhysX early implementation so animations and physics were pretty basic, similar to Gothic 3 and how stuff like smaller animals flew across the screen as you hit them, heh.)

Even had a mod SDK but it was very advanced so few actual mods surfaced and mostly smaller tweaks.
(Kinda killed MP playing seeing every stat for the other player for example, that and the very unbalanced skillset and low monitoring via moderators or admins.)

I do look forward to the sequel, if it's kept in line with the X360 version hopefully a console can be used this time as well and to be fair it does look fairly good.
(Character models are still a bit crude and some content seems reused but overall it's a improvement similar to the subtle but nice improvements between Gothic 3 and Risen to use a example or maybe Shadow of Chernobyl and Clear Sky to say that it might not be perfect but it's a nice improvement.)

Competition is quite serious this time as well (Previous had Oblivion and Gothic 3 to compete with and some other RPG's like NWN2 in a way.) with Fallout Vegas and Arcanium or what that sorta Gothic game was called again. Smile
(And probably some others, Mafia 2 maybe? different game but will be quite a competitor in terms of sales I imagine, buy one and pirate the other and such perhaps who knows, heh bit of a pessimistic view though unless the game totally fails to deliver or something, Oniblade and Earth 2160 had their flaws as had Knightshift or what their earlier game was called.)

EDIT: Post ended up a bit messier than I thought it would, ah well it's sort of readable anyway. Razz

good, they learned from their first game (which had a 1.7gb patch or something, changing most of the game lol).

Still looking forward to this. First one entertained me WAY more than oblivion AND g3 combined

Yes that is good, but they've already shown video of the game like a year? ago..

I don't mind if they'd release it 2015, but don't show anything about the game until it's 6months to the release. 1 year before you could mention that a sequel is in the works.

First one was entertaining (and played it only after the patches), but lost all interest in it now. Release it now and make a 2gb patch 6months later, would still be a year sooner release Very Happy

I can't find anything confirming any release date but seeing as it's gone from a expansion, stand-alone title and now full sequel it's not that surprising if they were to delay it further.
(Partially to avoid the problems the first game suffered due to being released earlier than it should have and such stuff.)

From the other things I've read on for example Insidetwoworlds.com it sounds like a nice improvement but it's just from early previews and hand picked screenshots.
(The game looks better but so far it looks quite similar to the first game in terms of visual fidelity, hard to judge much else from screens.)

Hmhm, yeah it seems so... Fan sites (which are generally more accurate than general gaming sites) still claim it's Q3/2010 and moderator on the official forums said "Two Worlds II is definitely scheduled to be released this year." Guessing they'll have the date nailed down by E3.

Vurt you jerk for scaring everyone with that lying link. Razz

Maybe, but the author of that article seems certain, he also responds on the same page, where someone is asking if he meant 2010 and not 2011..

Gamers in the United Kingdom will be able to purchase the RPG starting September 17, 2010.

Well that's my birthday, seems I know what to get for a present Smile

More exclusive stuff, this time it's a extra dungeon and the so called Luciendar sword (Kit Rae) from pre-orders at Gamestop (Mainly a US store I think.)

(I have the Royal Edition of it on pre-order but if it isn't part of that I'll find some other way to unlock it like the bonus codes with the first game for example, was even a keygen for those, haha.)

Two Worlds was the fugliest game I ever seen, like a meesed up WoW with idiotic controls. Had better ones on the Amiga. Hopefully this will be a step up as we can't get enough action RPGs Smile

Looks better and better. I won't hold my breath though. The first one also looked good, but was a buggy mess out for the box. Got playable after a few patches though.
