Played through the entry episode so I could get to the menu, only to find out it won't let me change resolution or even turn on VSync without crashing. I've got two monitors as well, so I'm betting that's the issue.

Because I'm too lazy to unplug my secondary monitor, I just went ahead and put the details up to the max and gave the first 2 episodes a go at 1280x1024.

I already was underwhelmed from the 'pilot' (let's stick with the TV series lingo shall we Very Happy) in terms of actual gameplay, but I figured I'd at least give the next two a go. Honestly though, I'd be raging if I had a download limit on my connection, because this was a waste of time.

I'm not having any FPS drops whatsoever, but at 1280x1024 I wouldn't expect it to. CPU (E8400@stock) usage sits at around 40%, GPU usage (5870 @ stock, activated the stock profile because it's pointless to OC for 1280x1024) didn't get above 30%, was in the low 20s most of the time. Graphically the game looks decent-ish, but the special effects are way overdone; how can this come from a European developer, English nonetheless, and be such a typical American product Sad

What really put me off though was the handling. Even for an arcade racer this is fucking terrible, really. It's no different from Mario Kart in any way: pedal to the metal, tap the brake to "drift" and you're done. While drifting, there's barely a need to counter-steer once you've got your angle, let alone having to play with the throttle. Remember Outrun, Chase HQ or Roadblasters? That's what this is, except with prettier graphics.

Add on top of that the clear laziness with the porting, not even being able to handle multiple monitors or give us PC gamers the graphics options we like so much, and you've got a waste of HD space.

Good thing it only took 15 minutes to download and unpack Razz

@pikachupi: don't make a remark like that, followed by "don't start the fight" you smartass Wink

@sausje: Burnout is better than this tbh, and my Logitech Rumblepad 2 worked just fine, even vibration worked! Smile

I was also underwhelmed by this. It's fun and raised a smile, but it's VERY simplistic. I get fine FPS on high, but I put it up to very high and it runs like a three legged turd. Agree with no graphics options, in this day and age it sucks.

X3440@3.0ghz, 4Gb Corsair DDR3, 9800GT. No issues changing options at all, apart from input lag on the menu screens.

Decent game, SHIT port.

Not entirely true, aside from the 30fps cap its a great game and im enjoying it a lot. As i mentioned eariler, after a couple of races you barely notice the cap. Gameplay is fun, gfx are top-notch, and mp is free lol.

What exactly is not entirely true? My speculations were about capped fps and very poor optimization; both turned out to be true.
As for the game itself, I hate these silly arcade racers anyway, so it doesn't matter to me much. Wink

Might work with just a simple rename trick say Pure.exe or similar until ATI (And NVIDIA) have a profile ready for the game via driver or hotfix or similar update.
(Same dev and publisher with that game though Dirt, Grid, Fuel or others might improve performance further until it's at 30 stable.)

Well... i dont care about the cap, runs like better on my rig and I love arcade racers.

OT: Bonus stage from season three was as hard as fuck, had to do it like 20 times.

I'm thoroughly enjoying this on my good ol' rig (as seen in my sig). Didn't try full HD yet, but it's running nicely on 1600x900 on HIGH quality.

And damn is it enjoyable. Cars, speed, crashes, explosions? Yum.

Meh I prefer to have some control over my car in a racing game, games like this are only fun when shaped like Mario Kart and when playing them with 4 people at once under the influence of a lovely golden liquid substance Razz

I got rid of it already at least, can't be bothered with a game that requires me to unplug one of my monitors anyway, shitty ass console ports FTW Sad

Redownload it if you're playing from ISO, or if you've already burned it; reburn.

Yes, CRC error, the iso file is corrupted, you need to redownload the game.
The source you got it from (torrent?) might have bad sectors on his HDD, or you have, or your DVD burner!
I had the same problem with some of my archived games, suddenly CRC errors while installing until I noticed that the HDD they were on experienced read errors. There is no way to fix this you have to dl it again, from another source if possible.

So I played a bit of singleplayer which is great fun, I want to try online as well but then I have no idea where to create an account... All I see in the "online" menu is asking me to enter my user name and password but there is nothing about where to register for an online account? Confused

Redownloading of the game is unnecessary. A simple hash-check will do its magic and download the missing files. It's just the iso of the game is incomplete.

Just enter the login you want and the next screen will let you register.

For all people who don't like this game... as stated before this game has the gameplay as Burnout on consoles.

You can't compare this to Dirt / Need for speed / Testdrive etc etc

Empty again Sad
