Ok so I just downloaded it..its a 4.37gb iso just like all the rest..but when I go to WiiU 1.1 to get rid of any updates, it says under name that its called SUPER MARIO GALAXY MORE..should I just wait for the official scene release or is this game fine..I downloaded the
Super.Mario.Galaxy.2.USA.Wii-iND one
I guess that is the only one available now right

Mine says more as well , but when it loads its is SMG 2 . Maybe just named that incase people (Nintendo types) were watching for the real name so they could kill the upload?? Not sure but it IS SMG 2.

Great game so far, pretty much what I expected.
The overworld is more streamlined (like SMB3) and no more running around to get to a galaxy.
Don't worry about the "more" in the title, that doesn't matter and you can rename it yourself if you use WBFS Manger.

The "MORE" is probably Nintendo's answer to Microsoft's Ban Hammer! LOL! Oh well, mine just finished downloading. Time to get the show on the road!

As I see it the name is whatever the ripper (Wii Scrubber or whatever other utility works.) decides upon, seen this several times with P2P releases, it's not that hard to rename (I named it Super Mario Galaxy 2 via Wii Backup File Manager before loading it onto the HDD.) most groups use the official name although sometimes the Wiitdb files doesn't match that either.
(Monster Hunter Tri and Monster Hunter 3 Tri for example, unsure which one was decided upon and is used now.)
Probably some titles also use code names as the Wii only uses those six letter ID's and the rest is newer seen when playing normally.
(You just the see the preview in that disc channel and then it boots to the menu.)

Just played it for a while. Using wii backup manager I told it to get a new version of titles.txt which contained the correct name for the game. Forcing NTSC in CFG loader worked great, although note that NTSC and PAL saves are different and you wont be able to use them on a PAL copy later.
So far i'm really enjoying it. noticably harder, noticably bigger. Only 4 stars in but enjoying it!

I tried in Dolphin but it's kinda slow and have graphical glitches. The officials forums won't allow talk about it until the game official release date. Anyone have configuration working great?

I'm using; Waninkoko's cIOS249 rev19 (merged with IOS57 for better USB speeds) and Hermes' 222/223 v5, alongside the latest USB Loader GX, and SMG2 works flawlessly on my PAL Wii.
Under USB Loader GX, the following settings for SMG2;
Video mode: Autopatch
VIDTV: On.
IOS: 222.
Error 002 fix: On.
Alt DOL: Default.
And that's it. No issues here. Downloaded the pre-scrubbed release and installed to my 500GB HDD via WBFS Manager.

the more i play this the more i'm loving it!! the levels just get better and better. harder and harder. more interesting by the moment. amazed at how they've managed to keep it so fresh...! I was worried it would be much of the same, but it's really not! Best Mario ever? Maybe.
The one thing I do miss is on Mario64, you'd have a massive world to explore and find stars in. This feels quite linear. Yes, at points you can go off course and win a star - but i do somewhat miss the massive open ended world feeling of M64... you know what I mean?

Game works fine under Dolphin using the OpenGL plugin. Background music stops playing after about 3 minutes in a level, but I think I already had that issue with the first mario galaxy game. Using the DX9 plugin I get occassional black screens, that's why I use OpenGL.

Xenthalon : Haven't you got a permanent blue square in the top-left quarter of the screen? Haven't you got some pretty strange rendering around planets? Do you use EFB copy? Which type? Do you use Safe texture cache? Do you use any other special settings?
edit : nevermind, dolphin forums now have a guide.

Cheap? Wii is more expensive here than a 360 and a PS3.
PC: Yes. Console: No.

Not to mention the hardware and games suck, I won't buy a over-priced console for 2 games.

Scratch my last comment, I get a black screen freeze when I get my first Grand Star. Got around it by disabling all the audio options, but then I got another freeze after getting into the second galaxy. Will go to bed now and hope for some SVN updates that fix this.

I`m a bit clueless...
borrowed a wii that i modded myself ages ago (yaosm). Updated the System, burned the game (2 times), but the console won`t read the disc.
The release seems fine. It`s working with dolphin. Any hints? Is it just a bad burn?
