Wow what a great game! Took me about 40h to complete game and do everything and fuck around for a while w/ all DLCs. At first I felt a little bit disapointed because of let's say consolization. Lack of looting was the biggest drawback for me, next were tiny locations, small amounts o armor pieces were also pissing me of just like butchered customization and overall spimplicity. But when you soak up in the epic story, great characters and top notch dialogues you soon forget that something is wrong with this game. Oustanding gfx, art direction and sound really ads to the immersion, small things like bachelor party are great. Combar after some time feels like really good action game. Oh and paragon renegade time events are fun too. I feel somewhat sad bc there is so much time to ME3 realease and I want it NOW!

Beaten. It was great. Too bad I needed space so I deleted it. I may redownload it after they release ME3 prologue DLC.

@the one who knows whoever he is: Where is the harbinger-screen flash-steam is uncrackable emoticon?

Now off to Mirror's Edge.

The harbinger persona just fits boundle so well, you know? Very Happy You keep "killing" him, but he just takes direct control of another user. Laughing

Edit: Well it is 4MB, hehe.

Just finished it and despite all that this game lacks (mainly the whole streamlining bullshit they did Very Happy) it's an awseome experience with a really brilliant story.
I gotta say the ending felt more epic than ME 1's ending did.
The DLC felt kinda tacked on (though I really enjoyed the Kasumi one. Her loyalty mission was short but fun - plus I never used her again after that :/ )
Oh, and the Firewalker side missions were fun. That thing could have been a good replacement for the Mako I guess.
The next DLC they're gonna release sounds interesting though I fear it will be all to short (Gonna by it anyway - Yes I know, throwing money to evil corporations but damn, I really like this game).

Mass Effect movies
http://www.bit-tech.net/news/gaming/2010/05/25/ea-sells-rights-to-mass-effect-film/1
Quote:
EA sells rights to Mass Effect film

The Mass Effect film will be made by Legendary Pictures and produced by Bioware founders.
Legendary Pictures has bought the rights to a Mass Effect film from Electronic Arts in a deal which sees key staff from BioWare signing up as executive producers for the project.

According to The Hollywood Reports the film has already found a writer too - I Am Legend's scribe, Mark Protosevich.

BioWare founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk will be involved in the project, along with Mass Effect game director Casey Hudson, all as Executive Producers. The film will be produced by Avi Arad, Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni.

Arad described the story behind the game and film as "a parable whose conflicts mirror the ones we currently face in our own world. This story emphasises the need for all cultures to learn to work together."

Legendary is currently involved in a seven year co-production deal with Warner Bros. and is working on a WarCraft film with Evil Dead creator Sam Raimi too.

UNKNOWN = shepard.

if they go with an unknown, theyll be far less likely to fuck shit up by picking him for his name rather than someone who'll get it right.

I agree, but a big franchise with a big budget for a potential blockbuster movie isn't going to put an unknown in the lead role. It WILL be a big star and Mr Worthington seems to be flavour of the month. He didn't do such a bad job in Avatar, imo.

While I would be curious to see an adaptation of what happened in the games and the how they will present the characters on the big screen, I think it would be better overall (from the game's standpoint) for them to just take advantage of the universe, and leave Shepard out of this.

There are plenty of other stories to tell...there's plenty of history too..Contact wars, Rachni Wars..the whole rise of humanity themes. Considering the game itself provides an interactive cinematic experience, and the character in the game is basically your character, it might be difficult to make a better movie out of this, especially if it will tell the same story.

But then again, I wouldn't mind seeing those final battles from the game on a huge screen and with big budget special effects Smile

Mass Effect to get online multiplayer:

Bioware is developing an online multiplayer component to the Mass Effect series, according to a new job listing.

A job vacancy at Bioware's Montreal studio - posted by EA senior recruiter Jeff Goldstein on LinkedIn - is entitled 'Multiplayer programmer (Mass Effect Franchise)'.

It continues: 'We are working on Mass Effect, one of the industry's most acclaimed and beloved franchises... Multiplayer programmers ensure the game engine and game systems work reliably and efficiently in a multiplayer environment. They... take existing single-player user experiences and make them multiplayer safe.'

The job listing has since been removed, but those clever cats at CinemaBlend have posted a screen grab.

A Mass Effect movie is also reportedly in the works. the release is being created by Hollywood studio Legendary Pictures.

This.

A prequel about human races discovery of Prothean technology and ventures into space would be good.

When they try and stick close with a license they almost always screw it up.

This.

The First Contact Wars would make for a pretty bad-ass movie IMO.
