^specific class skills existed in legends too (one for each class).

Still, what is also important that types of runes you'll get most of the time varies between classes, which pretty much pushed mage toward taking mostly mage skills, warrior toward warrior skills, etc...

Damn. Was hoping that units would have levels. That's one thing missing from HOMMV that I like in Battle for Wesnoth. Individual units can level up. Makes you value your units more rather than just sending 200 peasants in to die. Smile And I don't care for the castle building junk in HOMM. I may have to check KB out. Sounds interesting at least.


Try this mod, it adds experience to units and additional abilities when they reach level. Some major modding. Haven't tried it myself but there are screenshots.

I really need to finish this game, I got both games for cheap as balls ($12) on steam once, and it was fun, but I've only gotten out of the first zone. I also have issues where I have to complete EVERYTHING before I move onto the next zone.

Got some tips so I don't suck?

Seems to be a mess-up regarding crossworld. If you buy it on steam everything gets installed and you can play it straight away Smile even tho it's not out for another 6 or so days. You need to have armoured princess on steam or you'll have to buy the bundle for it to work. Not sure how long this will last so take advantage if you're interested...

Steam version just uses Steam, no star-force, SecuROM or anything like that (No activation needed or any support files for such copy protections.), also changes Armored Princess into Crossroads as it's basically a expansion and requires that game.
(Can't upload it as it's nearly 6GB but I only noticed Steam integration as the copy protection used.)

The "issues" with Crossworld are now fixed, pricing is set back to 19$ instead of 9$ which was a mistake but those who purchased it won't have any issues about it and if you restart Steam now the game data will redownload and revert back to being just Armored Princess via a "update" they released for it, you can rename the folder but unless cracked the game won't start up and would probably try to update as well.

Since a few hours ago on Gamersgate, Steam will probably follow shortly, both do need Armored Princess first though Steam installs that as well if needed.
(Changed to Kings Bounty Crossworlds overall instead of separate folders.)

I leeched KB The Legend some days ago and been playing for a couple of hours. But I've got a huge problem with this game. Graphic glitches and stuff! It starts to stutter and gives me artifacts and such. Like an overheating graphics card. Funny thing is, it's only with this game.
I tested furmark and some other games cause at first i thought my card is dying but after testing im pretty sure it's the game. Patched it 1.7.

Any idead how to solve this stuff? Btw, those glitches/bugs are vanishing when I'm tabbing out to windows and back into the game. At least for some minutes.

+ I've got those problems only with The Legend. Armored Princess is running flawlessly.

Anyone know how to get the hotfix working? It fixes a bug with the assassin skill "find weakness." Problem is that the skidrow version is the steam version of the game. The hotfix doesn't even run on steam versions of the game.

I only tried the arena campaign, decided to finish the Legends and Armored Pricess campaigns first (original game, first ex), but i did find the arena to be interesting enough personally. It is basically a rather small area, where you can hire creatures / do some side jobs and the arena, where you have to battle various boss creatures.

Because resources are scarce and you do not really have a big world to go and get more gold / xp, you have to spend your gold / xp rather wisely to have a chance.

That campaign is basically a challange for those players who already finished the main game. I spent about 5-6 hours on it and wasnt even halfway through, so i estimate there to be about 15-20 hours worth of gameplay in that one. Probably more, if we add the various mutually exclusive guild choices paths you can make throughout the campaign. Say you pick to go with one guild, then you can't go with the other and things like that.

A friend of mine played the DoC campaign, and said that it is about 8-10 hours. That, and the added content that expands the original campaign a bit. I do think the game was more than worth its price.

hotfix is for DVD version and protected with starforce - i unpacked the files with innounpacker but exe is SF 4 protected

It's a light version of Star-Force 5, no drivers but uses online activation via a rather long serial key, not easily cracked either (Steam version uses it's own system.) from what I know.

As a bit off topic speaking about online activation DFA.dll as seen in Arcania is usually the lighter version of SecuROM used in Ice & Blood, the expansion for Sacred 2, not easy to crack either apparently but that was a while ago and patches are rather low-priority for most scene groups it would appear.
(Or was it Tages? though I think that was DWM or some such, it also used something similar and has a new revision out.)

Star-Force in particular uses these protect.exe, protect.dll and protect_x86 and x64 support files for the drivers, Tages uses a separate installer but also has a main .dll dwm or some such and SecuROM still installs stuff in the background but has a .dll (DFA or paul.) often supporting with online activation and can also often make a disc based system into a online activated one.

I prefer not to have junk in the background so I keep track of copy protections and the like, not that they're very intrusive compared to earlier versions but they can get a bit annoying.
(SecuROM with it's illegal files, Star-Force with that scanning and deep integration and such.)

For this variation of Star-Force they only use the _x86 system file and it does not use any driver system but keeps it integrated in the protect file and game exe via a online authentication, earlier 4.x models needed re-validation every three days but that's been removed and the systems drivers no longer require a restart which is a huge plus.
(Uninstalling Tages and Star-Force is also very easy but SecuROM is problematic though can be disabled somewhat via command-line switches though there's usually no need to remove them as compared to earlier integrations it's pretty light on system usage and only enabled when the game is started.)

As for how to crack them I'm not very skilled about it or even certain on a large number of things but try to keep up to date about how it works on a basic level, I know Star-Force is updated constantly and later 5.x revisions have fixed a number of security problems (And other bugs I'd imagine.) but it's usually only used in eastern Europe, SecuROM still gets taken down early but the introduction of triggers and release day validation can be a problem, Tages is apparently the most problematic but recently Reloaded have been pretty active with this current version (Kinda similar to the groups dealing with SecuROM 7 initially.) though it's hard to say how it'll continue.
(Valve is also strengthening their system via that CEG/CEG2 stuff, LIVE also added ZDP and SSA verification and so on, SecuROM 8 will probably happen sometime as will Tages 6 and Star-Force 6 I guess.)

I'm not very skilled regarding these things but I read a lot about it and try to keep updated on the basics, could never actually crack a protection properly but it's useful to know what it actually does and how it works somewhat.
(They can be troublesome at times, Safedisc had a number of issues initially like with Morrowind where it constantly checked the disc, Star-Force could freeze the system and even shut it down depending on hardware and Tages had compatibility issues initially.)

Does this release contain the original game too? The nfo says it contains Armored Princess and is a standalone product. So no Legends?
