This and only this.
Bloodlines is such a diamond in the rough, but sadly most reviewers are too short-sighted to see past the rough... and I fear the same will happen to Alpha Protocol.

If this game is even half as good as the holy Bloodlines was, I'll be in heaven.

Hey, no probs! I love gaming, always have and always will, so I'm always going to give my honest opinions about games =) Definitely worth picking up, though I recommend trying the "demo" first (either on the 360 or the PC) as, being Obsidian, it has a few issues that may or not put people off playing.
I'm about 8hrs in and I'm honestly have a whale of a time. The story is really starting to get interesting now and the character interaction between yourself and your allies (or enemies ) is second only to BioWare, IMO. Combat gets a LOT better once you pump some points into your weapon stats, and also start tricking out your guns with modifications. |
Yeah, i know i could try the 'demo' first but if a game is really good i'll just buy it first unless it has some restrictive DRM (Ubisoft, kiss my ass you greedy bastards) or if it's priced in the stratosphere (EA, fuck you with a splintered baseball bat). I know this is going to be less than $50 for me so it all depends on my money situation.

We're a professional team of dedicated sceners with big mark
under sceners. We believe on the ground idealism of the root
of the real old school scene. We do all this for fun and

twice the fun \/ double the trouble
On with the game release information:
In the near future, worldwide political tensions are at a
breaking point when a commercial airliner is shot down by a
U.S. missile over Eastern Europe, killing all aboard. The U.S.
government claims no involvement, and dispatches Agent Michael
Thorton to investigate and bring those responsible to justice.
Loyalty carries a price and no one knows this more than agent
Michael Thorton. A talented young agent cast out by his
government, Thorton is the only one with the information
needed to stop an impending international catastrophe. To do
so means he must cut himself off from the very people he is
sworn to protect. As players determine how to accomplish
different objectives, the decisions made and actions taken in
each mission will ultimately transform the type of secret
agent Michael Thorton will become. Every choice the player
makes as Michael Thorton will carry consequences for his
future and the fate of the world.
As the first modern day spy role-playing game, Alpha Protocol
offers unprecedented control over the development of Thorton's
abilities and his interactions with other characters. Upgrade
skills such as physical combat, weapons mastery, cutting-edge
technology and even seduction as you grow in experience and
complete missions.
Customizable Spy - Players continually develop their spy with
advanced close-combat techniques, lethal marksmanship, the
ability to wield ingenious spy gadgets, and much more.
Multiple Paths to Choose From - With no right or wrong
decisions, players can constantly change the storyline based
on the choices they make. Will they let a terrorist escape to
follow a lead, or eliminate targets against the mission
agenda? Demanding decisions are challenging and many.
Revolutionary Interaction System - With the Alpha Protocol
'Ripple Effect' system, players can interact with allies and
enemies in a variety of ways. Their choices will dynamically
change the storyline and unlock new missions, weapons and
alliances.
Complete Choice of Combat Style - An arsenal of weapons with
a plethora of customizable add-ons allows players to create a
personalized weapon load out for every mission. Cutting-edge
technology, stealth maneuvers, ballistic explosives and more
can be discovered and used!
No Time to Spare - Every decision and interaction in Alpha
Protocol is made with a time-limit that steadily ebbs away.
Players must think fast, act urgently, and then prepare for
the consequences!
Real Modern-Day Setting - Players can live out real-world
espionage within rich international settings such as Rome,
Moscow, Taipei, and Saudi Arabia.
Developed by RPG Masterminds, Obsidian Entertainment- Founding
Obsidian members have worked on RPG blockbusters including

What's up with the weird menu sound moans?
EDIT: I don't think the crack works properly with the ELITE version. I get character moans when I mouse over any menu item, and the game doesn't start after the initial animation and character creation, instead it just drops me back to the main menu.

Exactly. These are the best kind of games, I remember a crapload back from PS1. And fuck reviewers. They're biased 99% of the time, other 1% just plain clueless.

Working perfectly for me so far.
bEnableMouseSmoothing=true should be mouse acceleration, right? Gonna try with false now anyways.

Played a bit on the Elite Clone-DVD release with my legit key. Uninstalled it to put Skidrow's on instead, however I didn't seem to get any sort of deactivation prompt for the DRM. Anybody shed some light on this?
From what little I did play (got to my first mission to infiltrate a base) I have mixed feelings.
The biggest cons:
-Consolized inventory/weapon/ability selection interface. Huge annoyance.
-Jerky camera
-Some of the controls are not listed in the keymappings at all (I brings up inventory, which when you back out of it puts you at your stats/intel screen)
-Worst (and buggiest) save system ever conceived.
Messed up a bit on my stealth approach right out of the gate. OK, I thought, I'll reload the checkpoint and do it over. Upon reloading the checkpoint the game starts me standing up instead of crouched down (how I was when I first entered the mission). Instant alarm.
There are HUGE, GLARING inconsistencies that you encounter when loading a save. A gate I opened to get to the checkpoint is magically closed upon reloading it. Enemies that were in the level ahead of me before are now magically GONE when reloading the checkpoint etc. etc.
In short...saving/loading is pretty fuckin broken.
Pros:
-Dialogue
-Background info (Get a real Deus Ex feeling in terms of the amount of extra text/info they threw in to flesh out the back story)
Mixed:
-Gunplay - Seems piss weak, then again I did start as Recruit on Hard...so probably not the best way to judge it.
I've still got high hopes for this game, though calling it "rough" seems too nice. They've got a lot of patches to release if my first hour or two is anything to go by.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

nuked on your pc? lulz im playing with the skidrow iso and crack just fine, maybe some weird shit is not letting it work for you and others. i remember in Splinter, because of their dll protection, it caused some shit with some antivirus programs, maybe the case here is the same? anyway, im playing it, its very good and im enjoying it!! its an awesome game.
Edit: removed 50% of engrish from my post.
