as my preference I would rate it like thyis:
- Shooters - PC - Absolutely - I will play some Halo here and there but if im really gonna be into a shooter, then PC all the way (especially with Skype because of the high sound quality when playing with friends.
- Football (soccer, lol) - Xbox360 all the way - partly for the big screen, but mostly because sports games feel much more fun being played with a controller.
- Racing games - I would say 50/50 on this one because there are advantages on both sides and i equally like both.
PS3 unfortunately, still dont have one ... waiting for the 3d update and then I'll take the plunge ...
Overall, I do enjoy my PC better because I put a lot of work into my machine and it delivers great graphic and performance results and also includes 3d gaming via Nvidia 3d Vision.
so i guess PC ftw!

all the flaws and faults you see in gaming aren't because of xbox and ps3 or 360 or ps2
its cause of publisher demanding more for less
if devs had control dlcs wouldnt exist
modding would exist in consoles
but why give gamers something for free?
what about the first hour demos for ps3?
dont just hate on xbox
ps3 is also a cash cow |

This pretty much sums it up for me. Also there are way more split screen coop games on consoles, which I enjoy tremendously with a friend and some beers.
So yeah, shooters/RPGs on gaming rig, which is also finely tuned and upgraded all the time; hack and slash, beat em ups, platformers and the like on the console. Also I really can not be assed with cover system shooters on my PC, I can stand them on the console.
Basically, in any third person kind of game, if I push backwards on my keyboard and the guy turns around and faces me, I hate it on the PC.
