Did anyone try this? I saw a couple of guys mentioning this at Anandtech so I was curious if anyone here already tried it.

Sounds great! Anyone willing to try this one out and measure the difference in boot time? Smile

Edit: Hmm if I search in google for "bootloader" it always displays comments of a guy called void. Nobody else seems to try this one out :/

And it says that the software is in beta state and because of this will only work for a limited amount of time. Will my system stop to work after that or what?

"This is a BETA version of the software product named "Boot Cooler". It will
expire on June 14, 2010."

It basically means the app will stop accelerating your boot via the prefetch.bin it creates during setup. I strongly doubt it will have any impact on the running or stability of the machine. I'm testing it now, didn't see any improvement in the first two boots (and actually, the second boot saw SIGNIFICANT hdd thrashing... even on my SpinPoint F1) I'll keep trying it and let you know.

Well that was a clusterfuck of epic proportions >_> If for some reason your bootmgr is NOT on the primary HDD; do NOT install the loader function of Boot Cooler. I've been adding and shifting drives for years on my comp, so much so that now my older 500GB SATA HDD is partitioned to be the primary system one, even though I've got Windows installed on the faster 640GB SpinPoint F1.

Thanks to that, and because I'm FAR too lazy to shuffle hundreds of gigabytes across drives in order to format and completely reset all the partition information, whenever I reinstall Windows now - it installs to the primary HDD (HDD0/SATA1) but the bootmgr ALWAYS gets shunted onto another drive (HDD2/SATA3) Grrrr. So yeah, don't fuck about with the loader function on this app, lest you end up without a bootable machine whilst you run around like a headless chicken looking for your Windows DVD Laughing
