lol..... no mate, that's definitely NOT playable Razz It's always been that way anyway, if you can skip past the movies. The movies crashed the emulator before, but skipping past them showed that same garbled screen, half size in HW mode and full size in SW.

it's not me who posted it... for some reason that problem remind Fatal Frame Series problems
that already been fixed, hope in the future the same will be done for those games as well.

Oh I know it wasn't you, bud =)

Development is always ongoing and the devs are always fixing issues from older games (Wild ARMS Alter Code F is fixed now) but the Snowblind games have been broken for YEARS ... each plugin developer blaming each other. PCSX2 team blames Gabest, Gabest blames the devs .. bleh! I think I'll just invest in a cheap external HDD and play them on my PS3 instead.

a lot of games has been "broken for years" and just recently been fixed...
like Fatal Frame 2&3 as I mention above,no one know when it will be fixed, but it seems we are getting closer now with the new builds.

Damn shame those games are still not playable on the emulator. The dark alliance on GC is a really bad conversion. Wonder why they still can't get the games to work for the ps2 emulator. Would LOVE to play all of them again.

What's so bad about the GC version? It looks much better and plays the same on dolphin. I have the original Dark Alliance and finished it on my PS2 that has been collecting dust for years, lost memcard and it's not chipped so I haven't bothered with it for like 6 or 7 years.

Edit: guess the GC version had poor FPS? Was a couple of slowdowns when I tried on dolphin but I think that's mostly because of my computer.

You can install those on the hdd of a j-tagged 360.
Smug

Yeah, but I don't have a JTAGed 360.. sadly Sad I want one REAL bad, but not enough to pay the stupid prices they're commanding right now. I can also download the ISOs and run them on my PS3 via USB Loader off an external HDD, but I don't have an external yet Razz
and then again if you have ps3 slim your shafted

Luckily I don't grinhurt I ain't that dumb, mate! I had a specific agenda (PS3 60GB Phattie, non 3.21 firmware) and I got it. Now all I have to do is get an external HDD and use my SwapMagic disk to run backups from it.

PS2 backups yes, when ran from an external HDD via USB Loader + SwapMagic. Most of the Snowblind engine games were on the original Xbox (Fallout, the first Champions game, Baldur's Gate/Baldur's Gate II) but they were all 50hz in PAL territories, so I can't play them (PAL machine) on my monitor -- only via a shitty 50hz TV. My monitor doesn't output at 50Hz, so the games refuse to load over VGA. Grrr.

Microsoft neglect to tell you THAT before you buy Xbox Classics off the Marketplace. Cunts. I wasted 3200MSP buying two Classics that I can never play because I refuse to connect my 360 to a piece of crap 50hz SDTV.

you didn't knew that ? its common knowledge just like the hdd maintenance mode
http://www.kevblog.co.uk/107136/Xbox_360_change_to_PAL_60hz/

its a hidden menu on Pal consoles that gives you the ability to output in custom resolution and pick 60 or 50hz
to have it you have to plug your console though component cable in TV mode

Nah, it's not the same thing bud. These Xbox Classics are 50hz games, there is no way to make them run in 60hz unless they were coded for it - or unless there's a software solution forcing them to run in 60hz, and by doing that you get the sad side-effect of sped up movies and audio. I've played a 60hz Xbox Original (Black, an awesome FPS) and it worked fine via the VGA because it WAS a 60hz game.

That PAL-60 setting only applies to the standard TV cable, not the VGA (as VGA is ONLY 60hz on the 360) and there's no on/off switch deciding between TV and HD.

Thanks anyway though.

Mate, it will NOT WORK. PC monitors output at 60hz, NOT 50hz. So even if I forced the machine to output at PAL-50 the monitor would just give me a black screen and an out-of-range error. You're getting backwards confused here. I have NO trouble playing 50 *or* 60hz games on a TV set, it's playing 50hz games on my PC monitor that I can't do. To play Xbox Originals (or Classics, if bought from The Marketplace) over the VGA cable, they MUST support 60hz or they won't even load.

Let's break it down;

360 + TV = all 50hz and 60hz games playable.
360 + PC monitor = only 60hz games playable, 50hz don't even LOAD. They give an error about not being compatible with 60hz displays.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/914378

Quote:

The VGA standard cable does not support PAL-50. Therefore, if you use a VGA cable, you must configure the Xbox 360 console to use PAL-60.

However, some original Xbox games support only PAL-50 and not PAL-60. Therefore, you will not be able to play original Xbox games that support only PAL-50 if you use a VGA cable.

Read and see. PAL console + 50hz games + VGA? NO WORKIE, NO SUCKY SUCKY.

Hehehe, no worries =) Time for me to hit the sack anyway. I think I'll just pick up a 500GB LaCie Rikki for the PS3 (like the one I have on my Wii) to play the PS2 versions. Waiting for emulation is just silly.

T'was my plan, matey =) Got sick of thinking "awww, I wanna play xxxx but I can't because I don't have xxxx" Pfeh! So now I've got all three primary consoles and a MID-range PC ... I wish it was high-end, but my GPU and CPU are a little dated now.

I got my Wii fully hacked up and running an external HDD, on my TV. 360, PS3 and PC running through the same monitor.

I know Very Happy I picked up my 500GB LaCie drive (for the Wii, which will get more play time than old PS2 games) for 490kr, roughly £50. Not bad at all! It's really quick, absolutely tiny, and doesn't require an external power source.
