Well I can't find any skunks, on the net it says west and south of Bonny's ranch at night is a good bet but I can't find em, they stink!
That's actually the place I found them, together with the needed racoons. The foxes took me quite a while :/
Just ride around that place at night for a while, if you see a skunk use a bait it might attract more skunks instead of wolves or coyotes
i found an endless supply of skunks in mexico. where you start off, ride up that trail to the rock formation at the end of it on the ledge. around that rock there were plenty of skunks.
Thanks guys, found the best possible advice here http://reddead.wikia.com/wiki/Skunks it maybe a glitch or something but that's where they spawn at night, found 4 in one minute just climbed the house and had a very good view with the sniper.
Another thing how do you kill the bear with the knife, someone mentioned shooting the leg well I did twice and still died in the end, I could try a single shoot with the shotgun but I am afraid of killing it, I know a shot to the head with the shotgun will kill a bear outright.
Well i shot him about 3 or 4 times first with the pistol in the torso till he starts running away. Then you just chase him with your lasso to stall him. I tried to always run to his back knifing him, because he doesn't seem to be able to turn fast enough

I don't get it, I can't buy the US army outfit at the store in Blackwater (not available) although on the outfit section I did everything else (except buy it, the last thing to do).

You have to finish surtain missions to be able to buy scraps.

You need to finish every mission in the game (except for the last stranger mission) in order to buy that scrap. Just did it last night.

Still haven't finished it. Last mission I did this evening was "The Outlaw's Return" and I'm pretty reluctant to go on. It's a game in the vein of GTA so I know this game ain't gonna have a happy end. (I haven't read any spoilers so I _really_ don't know how it's gonna end but I know I ain't gonna like it one bit :/ )

He was just being nice... for old time's sakes! Or maybe he didn't want to get him alive, maybe he planned all along to fuck with Bills head by using "fancy" words, so Bill would give him the "go fuck yourself, John" bullet just so he could, and I quote: "take his time and go after him in a less kind way".
John didn't liked Bill. Bill was pretty dumb.
So, just finished it (100% btw. happens rarely that I go for that) and I gotta say this game is just awesome.
9,5/10 for me. Story is awesome, ambience is awesome, gameplay is awesome with a couple of flaws (or stuff I felt missed - like selling wild horses. Why can I break them when I can't sell them?)
concerning the ending:

I should have seen John's death coming, right? When Dutch said, before jumping off the cliff, "they're gonna find a new monster. They have to." I should have known that they would come for John. What makes it all the more saddening is that you get to do missions on your farm and John is all happy to be back and shit and then they just fucking kill him. Getting revenge on Ross with Jack was sort of satisfying but still, the ending was sort of sad.
I gotta find me the soundtrack (or at leas the couple of songs with actual vocals because they are so fitting and awesome to listen to).
So let's speculate: Is there gonna be an RDR2 (or Red Dead "something else")? I hope so. Though I actually don't know if I would rather see a continuation of the story (but then again how would they manage that?) or a sort of flashback to John's starting days with Dutch and the others.
Both would be cool.

I found it sort of ironic that the gun I used for killing Ross was the high powered pistol. A gun John Marston got from Ross in the first place. Talk about biting you in the ass
I hope they let me use all the shit I unlocked in the DLC. ffs for what did I get the marshal's and the bureau outfit? They are of no use to me now :/
This game was epic...I love me some good Westerns and this was definitely one of them. Add to that that the story, which seems relatively simple (revenge plot), is deceptively complex about a struggle between different ways of life, civilization and savagery. If you listen to a lot of the discussions characters have (during missions, cutscenes), it's quite impressive. There was so much to do, I 100% it (which is rare) and I still want more! Come on R*, give us more!
Yeah I think Landan ricketts or john running with the gang would be good episodic content

That's what they say, but actually those are some of the game's first hours of story cut scenes glued together. Nothing worth watching if you played the game, and if you haven't that short "film" will mostly spoil some parts of the game for you.
