Eurogamer review is up:
Spoiler: | By focussing so intently on what players responded to in 2003, there's no room to develop the ideas that might resonate in 2010. For all its flaws, the 2008 version refused to stand still. What we get here feels like a place-holder, a nostalgic diversion that exists so there's product on the shelves to coincide with the movie, rather than something driven by a flash of inspiration as to where the series could go next. For all its basic surface pleasures, The Forgotten Sands seems content to indulge our fondness for the past without ever giving us reason to be excited about the future.
6/10 |

I knew it would fail, combat seemed dulled at first glance and gfx are meh, nothing extraordinary.

Now let me see if I understand correctly... When the 2008 Prince of Persia game came out, people bitched how it was not like The Sands of Time, and how they wished Ubisoft would release The Sands of Time in the Assassin's Creed engine and call it a game, and now that they have actually done that, people are bitching because it looks too much like The Sands of Time?
Wanna bet some people will also complain it's too difficult, unlike Prince of Persia 2008?

Better that than what happened in Warrior Within, where prince became emo. I wonder how he didn't slit his writs.

I'm bitching because it doesn't make me enter the second letter of the third word on the second page of the user manual.
... On that tangent..I find it amusing people think DRM interfering with user game play is a new concept.

Quote: | The Forgotten Sands is the very definition of a pretty good Prince of Persia game that doesn't feel like it entirely lives up to the series' vaunted pedigree. Times are changing, of course, and you could argue that Assassin's Creed has justifiably superseded Prince of Persia in Ubisoft's stable of action games. It's clear which franchise is receiving the lion's share of development efforts these days, anyway. But the prince has still got plenty of fight left in him, and next time out, whatever timeline or set of characters they end up going with, I hope Ubisoft gives him the attention he deserves. |

Have you seen people discussing it how they got it from the usual places? If not, then it's not out.

Gamersgate lists it as if it will be released on the 8th, Steam says 11th, pretty sure it was supposed to be 8th for the US and 11th EU due to this odd delay.
(Aside from needing two weeks or so for pressing - or what it's done like - all the game discs this short delay won't really affect much anything aside from the usual day-1 patch from their FTP I'd guess as with all their other recent titles.)
(This works - http://static3.cdn.ubi.com/silent_hunter_5/ but I haven't found the PoP folder name yet and it might not exist actually but if it did and a patch could be found it would show that the game has been complete since a while though that's usually the case anyhow, seeing the changelog would be interesting though I guess there's also the usual unlisted fixes and improvements, seems they're trying hard for ATI "Eyefinity" support and optimizations for example though the game engines are mostly favoring NVIDIA aside from a few select titles via say DX10.1 or driver level optimizations, though again ATI is a bit behind with such support, even the stand-alone profile app is updated once a month now with the main drivers for various hotfixes and not really quick support of more recent games, which could really benefit Crossfire and some single-card configurations as well depending on how complex the profiles are.)

For some reason, newcomers think the scene "moguls" are all sitting here in the Hump.
But MikeleBG is not a new member.

Aside from a few patches Skidrow have been pretty active with this DRM so if it's nothing big being changed or tweaked it'll probably be cracked quite quick.
(Similar to that weakness in SecuROM 7 and now also Tages 5 that Reloaded and other groups seems to handle within hours, not that I would know much about how it works but that's the impression I get.)

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things donโt always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things donโt always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
