i liked the facial animations. they are a bit dated, but they went out of their way to actually implement them in a way that lets you pickup usable cues from the characters. pretty awesome in the sequence with albatross if you ask him about sis' locket.

if you bought the sniper rifle drop you can go out through the roof instead of the front exit and it will be there, making the mission easier.
if you have an assault rifle and some 'nades, the roof might be a better option even without the sniper rifle drop.

i just beaten this game. the graphic is alright. i wished the game camera would automatically follow you where ever you turn instead of you having to move it. i play with xbox 360 controller for pc. you have to constantly whip the camera with the right analog stick each time you turn with the left. Sad

i also wished you could play as a female. the different paths offered by the conversation is neat. i might play through it again just to see what happens if i change things up a bit. also, i only managed to bone two chicks (scarlet lake and madison saint james). i might play again to see if i can bone all four chicks. Smile

the ending isn't very good. i replayed the last save several different ways and the ending all shows the same thing. Sad

Replaying from the last auto-save won't change the endings. The choices that influence the ending cutscene are made well before that.

I'll side with teh reviews on this one, this game isn't that good, probably a 6.0 that GT gave it I think.

The constant stuttering and hiccups don't help it, plus the black market menu is very slow to load.

It was instant the last time I used it, thanks to crackfix from Skidrow. Confused

I don't necessarily agree with everything I say.

It's odd that it didn't work for you. The crackfix fixed the market slowdowns for me as well (and the stuttering also). Do you get the slowdowns when you try to switch the categories in the market?

Ay, it's taking a few seconds.

I've downloaded the crackfix again but from a different source just in case, maybe with better results this time.

Obsidian seems to be doing well, they just announced Dungeon Siege 3. Smile
http://www.actiontrip.com/rei/comments_news.phtml?id=060710_6
(Alpha Protocol, Fallout Vegas and then Dungeon Siege, nice to see more than D&D from them though they still seem like they're working for other larger studios most of the time or how to describe it.)

EDIT: Ah good it got it's own thread quickly.
(I'd attempt it but keep failing so no, couldn't decide to bump up the DS1 or DS2 threads either due to their age.)

What the hell? The game worked fine for me last week (Windows 7, 64 bit). I tried to start it up, and it crashes before the game even starts up. I tried reinstalling, but the problem persists. Anybody else had this problem?

Finally done with this unfinished turd
ending I got
 Spoiler:

I would replay to see other consequences & endings but the game is too unfinished & buggy to be worth it tbh
sometimes I reload and there are no enemies or doors stay locked forcing me to load previous save and that's just the tip of the iceburg
I don't see how the story is supposed to be involving if so many things are just thrown out there for no reason, it just seems like a bad mix of things, it's "trying" to play the global complex conspiracy thing, but is just being absurd

aye i had that too, then i noticed nod 32 was constantly deleting my skidrow.dll

so if i want to play it i need to turn off nod and put the dll back in place xD

it also fixed the slowdown in the blackmarket screen

I love this game, even more than Splinters Cell, almost the same as Mass Effect2.
I'll replay this a 3-rd time even!

Still no sign of news related to a patch. Not even a "we're looking into it guys". What the hell happened to Obsidian's beatiful insta-patch policy? What happened to their brilliant communication with the community Sad

Obsidian was one of the few companies who actually listened to the community. Their forums had one of the best communities with well thought through advice. You opened a thread with a good idea, and bam it was magically in a patch within a week. Now there's zilch news, nothing. Maybe they didn't expect the bad press and simply said fuck it.

Not sure how it is on the PC, but on the 360 you can hold R-Trigger to fast forward through scenes like a videoplayer.

Obsidian are probably busy with Fallout 3 Vegas and Dungeon Siege 3, if Sega lets them and allows funding for it a patch might hopefully be released to help fix some of the issues with the game though I imagine Bethesda (F3) and Microsoft (DS3) are busy with them as well, they're a bit ambitious, heh. Smile
(Hopefully Vegas and DS3 will be polished better than this game but it's hard to say, not that I found the game bad but it's a bit rough around the edges so to speak.)
