I wonder how much of that cash ends up going towards the development of BIS games. |
You sure about that? BIA does have a contract with the Australian Defense Force but BIA is a division of BIS so of course they're the company with the contract.
BIS contract for the US military (in conjunction with the other places)

BIS providing VBS2 for NATO

There are some other links for private military contractors as well. They're not hurting for cash unless they're wasting it on hookers and blow

Well I read it some years ago so things might have changed. The entire thing is a bit strange though. The VBS website has a copyright note at the bottom which says the trademarks are owned by BIA, but their new website, and maybe even company, is now called BISimulations.
Both companies seem linked, and since one is raking in cash through contracts with militaries around the world, it was a bit strange when BIS claimed they had to release ArmA to make some cash for the continued development of what would in the end be ArmA2.
It might be that the two companies arent as closely linked as we might think.

At this moment it seems, BIS doesn't have a publisher for western Europe (Northern Europe, Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, UK, etc). 505 games isn't the publisher anymore.
So that's why we couldn't pre-order it from UK online shops.
Less then 1 month from release, how's this possible? Are they nuts??
I'm beginning to doubt that they will launch Operation Arrowhead at the same time as in other parts of the world.

Yup. That was bit shock after hearing that 505 wont be UK publisher anymore
Even so it's np for me, I can buy it from play-asia or online ect...
But I think BIS got things under control and UK market will getting this game 29.jun like others.
Strange, that 505 denied this time, I don't think A2 sold bad... Well let's wait and see. I rather buying game from UK than Asia or digital...

Maybe they wanted more from BIS. It's always a question of money.
I think, that three weeks it's way too short for getting a publisher and going gold.
But we really don't know any details of what's happening.

Still no 1.05 crack!?
Facts & figures on obesity: Obesity is one the major health challenges worldwide and has become an epidemic over the last decades. Europe has the highest number of overweight and obese people in the world. The number of obese people has in fact tripled over the last 20 years in the Europe, according to the WHO. Today, over 130 million people are obese in Europe; approximately 10%-20% of men and 15%-25% of women. In addition, 400 million people are overweight in Europe.

Install with a legit serial and you don't need a crack or a CD in the drive.Frankly this is one title that deserves support.

They do still use FADE however which is the main problem as the game quickly becomes impossible to play depending on what the FADE system decides to do.

Ya makes me wonder why other games don't use this system since it seems so hard to crack, this happened with the first arma, they released a large patch and it removed the copy protection but canceled out old fake CD keys and it took about a year for them to release a working crack for it.
Been waiting since December for a crack but it doesn't look like they will crack it hopefully they will crack OA but than I am sure they will patch it quickly and the game will remain uncracked. Wish crackers would stop wasting time on all these garbage releases like Alpha protocol and AC2.

Yah you are right, forgot all about FADE.
FADE is just something BIS cooked up for their games and probably not something you could easily sell as a copy prot to other companies.

That is true but there's not much that can be done about it.Their team isn't as big as say,EA,Ubi and if they were that big we would get an even worse product with all the corporate poltiical crap getting in the way and people not even involved in development cutting out features and dumbing it down, like has been done to so many other great titles.
(rainbow six, etc)Thats why BIS cut ties with Codemasters, they were trying to tell them what to do with their design. At least we do get public betas to test before the patches are released.
They are the only real game in town for a realistic combat simulation, there really aren't many other choices on the scale of this title.
