Anyway, Steamworks or no Steamworks, live or no live, as long as this game will be as mod friendly as Fallout 3 I'll probably buy it right away.
Fallout 3 was one of the few games that I bought for 20+€ and was well worth the money. And it is by far the best vanilla ( i.e. unmodded ) game Bethesda have ever released.

Aye, unmodded it was brilliant - I put 70hrs into the 360 version and loved every second - and when modded? Oh HELL yeah. Modded just makes a fantastic game all that much better.

I dunno man, that scene at 1:46 looked awfully familiar to me. You even see the beginning of the mushroom cloud as it fades to black. The orbital laser isn't nuclear, so it won't leave a mushroom cloud behind. Either way; it's incredibly dumb to use the exact same set piece as the first game. IMO of course.

Having said that, I think a orbital laser will not create a real explosion (but vaporise stuff) so I would not expect a mushroom cloud when using an orbital laser. But who knows??

Like the mood the trailer sets, too bad the gfx and animations feel dated and clunky.
Although, storywise, im sure that Obsidian will give us a kickass game. And im still pretty sure that im gonna put countless hours into it, like i did with FO3.
But imho, that engine really needs to be put to rest now. Maybe Bethesda will announce something at E3.

It'd be really shitty if they use this engine again for a new Fallout, so I think a new engine will absolutely be announced.
That explosion didn't remind me of Megatron, I can't see the connection between the two. What exactly do you mean Sabin?

realistically it wouldn't cause an explosion, but if it caused rapid heating it would create a mushroom from any smoke it made and loose dirt around it
the mushroom shape in all explosions is created by a suddenly heated central point that rises while colder air around it go downward to fill the vacuum, creating a rising, spinning donut shape
it's particularly cool looking if there's not much dirt around and you just see the ring with the glowing hot dirt trapped inside it
i guess you could have explosive vaporisation if you hit water but that's a whole different deal

I was kind of surprised,
I did Operation Anchorage close to the beginning of the game. The UFO mission as well.I have armor and alien lasers and can dang near get through the whole game regardless of levels pretty easily where as before these expansions came out it was much more of a struggle.Sure fallout 3 is cool but I still want something closer to the originals.

Some of those addons are a bit imbalanced, enemies scale correctly (If scaling can ever be defined as proper.) so you do get a decent challenge even around level 15 - 20 but a low level player can get trough it just fine and the reward weapons don't scale so you have these blasters and rifles and armor (And a ton of ammo.) that are far ahead of anything else in the game, heh.
(Mods help, been thinking of replaying Fallout 3 but the 5000+ mods on PlanetFallout and Fallout3Nexus would take ages to go trough and a lot is just odd junk or sex related, same dilemma I had when I thought about replaying Oblivion though I eventually got trough it all after a few days of sorting and installing and had a fun time just playing.)
EDIT: Makes me wonder how much will be ported over to Vegas.
(Texture replacers would make the most sense, guns using low-res textures outside of first person and only for the player character and the usual world texture detail mods, ambience and sound mods as well and given a Nifskope update we'd probably see the usual weapons and armor plus assorted clothes and body mods ported over as well, maybe even quest mods and other stuff given time and someone might script it so F3 itself can be brought over just as Morrowind was kinda brought into Oblivion and Oblivion stuff into Fallout 3.)

The easiest way to find the best mods is to simply sort all the categories into most downloaded/best rated/most comments or whatever sorters the site uses. Yeah you'll still come across sex mods, but the really good mods will stand out as well.
Of course you'll miss out on the newer, less well-known but still good mods, and other gems in the rough, but it's a good start and saves a lot of time.

Not to excited to be honest.
Maybe if they used a new engine and redid the whole thing I would care but I really already know what to expect, bad gun play, same ol oblivion graphics, retarded AI, probably will be more closed in than FO3, and will be less like the original fallout games and more friendly to console gamers and little kids.
I will definitely get this after modders start releasing overhauls and such until than I won't waste my time, besides all the new features they have added are just dumbed down versions of mods that already exist.
Facts & figures on obesity: Obesity is one the major health challenges worldwide and has become an epidemic over the last decades. Europe has the highest number of overweight and obese people in the world. The number of obese people has in fact tripled over the last 20 years in the Europe, according to the WHO. Today, over 130 million people are obese in Europe; approximately 10%-20% of men and 15%-25% of women. In addition, 400 million people are overweight in Europe.

I liked F3, but not enough to consider buying it. I hope this is even better.
F3 haters should look elsewhere so we can reduce the whining.

Because it's advertised as a standalone addon? Like GTA:LCS.
