This game is amazing!! GOTY for sure. I completed it just the other day and found all 240 Riddler puzzles which was very satisfying!!! The end was great and I look forward to the sequel. I am guessing it's going to be something like Batman Siege of Gotham or something. The formula they used was perfect so they will have to come up with something similar to Arkham Asylum.

To be honest, I am really bad in "beat-them-up"-games, since I never played them before, so I did choose easy difficulty - and have to admit, I am stuck nevertheless.
I am at about 30% and cant beat the fight against the hordes of Harley Quinn on the electrical charged platforms. Whatever I do, I take so much damage - no chance. So many enemies, especially these ones with electrical staffs ... I dont know how the win this part.
Is there any any cheat or trainer (for version 1.1) out there? I would like to continue and see the story evolving but this fight is too difficult for me.
thx

One of the few the handful of games I bought. Was very well polished, made you feel like batman and not some model on the screen.
The puzzles were a bit.....dumbed down though :\
Otherwise the story and gameplay were very well done.

It seems Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 is somehow going to be even darker than the first game...

PhysX while only allowing for hardware acceleration on NVIDIA cards also works as a library of runtime DLL's so you need the latest version (NVIDIA's website or the slightly newer .222 version from Metro 2033, probably posted on various sites.) PhysX itself won't be used outside of software mode.
(Similar to needed to have DirectX up to date for newer titles.)
Hope this explains it at least somewhat, earlier versions were self-contained and did not require these runtimes but by now all PhysX titles need them even for software/cpu mode.
(CUDA acceleration stuff like APEX and other things probably even if it's not initialized.)

Better than the Joker anyways. Catwoman and poison ivy and shit like that were dumb. Also Mr. Freeze.

joker pwns. hamill joker that is...
i think arkham proves that if its approached 'right', and with proper respect, 'fantasy' batman can be better than 'real batman'... i mean the atmosphere and characters in this were way better than in nolans films... the joker was more fun, batman was WAY cooler in this, and didnt need to grumbly-voice every fucking line, and the scarecrow.. man, come on, him and his nightmare sequences were awesome.
and yes im aware that its a game not a movie, but can you imagine a movie version of this that looked the same is all im saying... fantasy based batman universe fucking ROCKS when its done right.

film and games are two vastly different mediums that simply do not translate back and forth
nolan's batman would suck as a game
arkham would suck as a movie
every successful translation back and forth has been very different from the source material

i was never suggesting the mediums were interchangable ( no matter how much hollywood would like to believe...), my point was that the fantasy aspect CAN translate into something serious and atmospherically amazing...
the game WAS gritty, and it was dark and at times twisted... you dont need to take a 'reality' based route to accomplish these things, is what im saying
and i disagree that arkham would suck as a movie... if it was a cgi film, with designs and voice casting exactly the same, with the same design team and same work ethics behind it, you really think it would have sucked? i dont...
