As far as I know MGS : Subsistence is PS2 only its the story of Naked Snake and I think that you meant the game Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance wich realy came out on the PC.

aevis wrote: | Is there a subsistence pc version ? O_o ( It is not Substance - Subsistence is the re-release of MGS 3 Snake Eater with 3rd person camera and some other extras. I heard about it from you guys , couple of pages back )
Edit : Ooops ! Hadn't realised there was a new page going |
Well the PC versions are:
Metal Gear Solid (Sep 24, 2000)
Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance (Mar 27, 2003)
Metal Gear Solid: Rising (TBA)
PS:
Metal Gear Solid (Oct 21, 1998)
PS2:
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (Nov 12, 2001)
Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance (Mar 3, 2003)
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (Nov 17, 2004 )
Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence (Mar 14, 2006 )
Metal Gear Solid EC (Mar 18, 2008) (Its a pack with MGS 1, MGS 2 director's cut and MGS 3)
PS3:
Metal Gear Solid 4 (Jun 12, 2008)
Didnt list the PSP versions orand the limited editions of all those games or any other console becouse there are joust to many versions of the game. And as you can see there is a Substance version wich is MGS2 and Subsistence wich is MGS 3 and these one is not for PC like the MGS 2.
PS
Thx dsergei for corecting me.

You forgot the original Snake eater for the PS2 and the MGS Twin snakes remake on Gamecube. Substance also came out on Xbox.

i wonder if this time we will actually be able to play rather than watch some never ending pointless pathetic blabbering about nothing really, coz that's what last mgs felt like, well pretty much like the 2nd one, 5 hours of video and 2 of gameplay

Quote: | Eurogamer: Is the game mostly hack-and-slash?
Shigenobu Matsuyama: It will be pure action, with the sword katana action. RPG or build-up elements will not be in the game. |
It's a shame, it would have added more depth to a game that appears to be a little bit on the derpy side
I'm still interested though, even if MGSR will be out (optimistically) in 2012

Look on the bright side: MGS Rising will be awesome if played with the PS Move
edit: aye, but I believe that it's just a generic prediction made by Eurogamer

It sounds cool, but I want Raiden to be able to use other weapons, like M4, USP etc. To me, MGS is about all those weapons and customization (like MGS 4) as much as it is a story and long ass cutscenes (Which I actually like). If they make this just hack and slash with that katana, I dunno... MGS isn't DMC, MGS should be MGS. Let's hope that the Matsuyama guy doesn't fuck it up.

Haha, well if there was one thing I didn't like about previous MGS installments it was Snake's unwillingness to use melee weapons. But now it seems we'll get that at the cost of everything else.

Yeah that sucks They should've made a good balance. If you prefer to be like mostly firearms, use that and use the sword where absolutely needed or if you feel so. If you like the melee, use the sword.

TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."

I hope they'll be giving up more actually useful info about the game during TGS, but.. still, nice to see something.

Awesome demonstration, the game looks great D: Though, I wish they would show something more on the storyline, actual gameplay etc. So far all they've been showing is cutting watermelons xD

Live tech demo of cutting some content.........and that being melons and bowling pins and robots |
That's probably one of the most retarded presentations ever right after the kinect/wii-fit/PS-move stuff
But somehow I've still hope in this game, and although it won't probably be "deep", I'm pretty sure that it will manage to provide countless hours of brainless fun.

TGS interview about among other things reappearance of other MGS-characters in the game, and the hunter-stealth idea.

Plenty enough time to polish the cutting/slicing technique.
