da-da-da-da-doooooo want.
know what would be super epic maximum awesome? remember those 2d strategy games where when you engage an opponent it cut to a really cool 3d battle scenario showing the attack? how cool would it be to have really nicely rendered 3d characters above the board that actually engage in battle while you work the board. they could be prerendered cgi.. perhaps 3 different 'standard attack 'animations, and one or two for normal magical attacks, that engage whenever you activate an attack on the board... and every now and then on a MAJOR attack, you get a fullscreen rendered sequence..
puzzle quest 3 maybe?  that'd be so cool.
not sure if i like the added complexity of moving around a world in 3d like a traditional rpg.... could really drag the game down a bit when all i want is to move from point a to point b and whup an ogres ass, u know?

lets hope they toned down that anger inducing cheating AI, fucker knew what stones would fall beforehand and used it constantly to make shitloads of combos.
Too bad there's no PSP version, always liked my midwork PQ1 sessions.

Definitely buying this on the 360 as soon as it hits. I got the first one, ignored the shit out of Galactrix, and I still play it regularly any way. I even got my elder brother into playing this (PC ver) after he saw me playing the 360 one. He usually DETESTS these kinds of puzzle games, especially Match3, but he really enjoys Puzzle Quest.
Incidentally; has anyone played the clone Puzzle Hero?

This. Oh fucking GOD this ten times over. I don't care what anyone says, the AI in PQ cheated like a motherfucker .. it was some of the most infuriating AI cheating in any game I can think of, outside of the SNK fighters.

Puzzle Hero is great fun. I preferred it to Puzzle Quest although/because there's not so much happening in the game.
Epsilon: Game is great btw, I love it, so far it's a definite goty. It's remarkable how much has changed since the beta, stardock have been working their asses off, and it shows.

The same problem with Galactrix but even more so. Some hardcore AI cheating in that one. Good thing it didn't have anywhere near the gameplay value of PQ though. You were right to ignore it!

according to a dev on the PQ forums the XBLA version is coming out on the 30th June. No specific date for the PC version yet.

Played it till char level 18 on the DS, it's very good, although it does not feel as epic as the first one, because you basically only dungeon crawl as opposed to sieging cities and all that.
Still very addictive though.

Game is sooooooo addictive >_< AI still cheats like a motherfucker. If it isn't cheating it sure knows how to get lucky. Still Assassin is fucking godlike. Disarm + Stealth, Strike, Strike, Strike = I win.

It's funny how people always complain about the AI cheating, but when they get the same unbelievable combos, it was just "mad skillz".
