Yeah as far as I remember with UE3 that's usually done by a custom FOV changing keybind, bit difficult to put that in via hex-editing, some sort of compiler and decompiler would be needed for at least the compiled coalesced.bin files.
(A hack or similar like a trainer for the EXE would perhaps work as well, perhaps something over at WidescreenGamingForums though the game isn't meant to be released yet I think so it might not be very active.)

For FOV, the wider is aspect ratio of used resolution, the bigger is FOV.

16:9 resolutions in the game have widest FOV, while 1280x1024 (5:4) has the shortest one.

I created a Texture Pool Size Patcher, if anyone still interested in it Smile

http://www.sendspace.com/file/xvrsa4

EDIT: After selecting game folder don't forget to enter new PoolSize value, for example 400.
EDIT2:

Uploaded a new version.
[v1.0.0B8]
-- Added SHA1 checks for .exe and .bin files, so it's no longer possible to patch something else named like these files.
-- Added version detection for .exe file. Patcher can change SHA1 value inside original and RELOADED executables.

It fixes the texture cache issue. Or rather, does a much better job at fixing it than Raven did Very Happy

Hehehe Very Happy But don't down play your involvement, after all you provided a link to how-to, without it I wouldn't have been able to create a patcher Smile

I just finished this game, and man, it beats bioshock 1 and 2 easily. This game was really, really, really good. Maybe I like old school shooters too much, but this worked like a charm, nice fast paced combat, and better story than I have seen in any FPS to this date.

I'm glad you like it, but i just don't feel the same. It's a solid game, nothing more. Doesn't bring anything new to the table, just copies, sometimes better than others, everything from bioshock, half-life, Timeshift, etc.

It also feels too easy. The enemies, the puzzles (if u can consider that puzzles), the health packs (i left more than half of them behind), same with ammunitions, you never feel you need to save on them. The upgrades, which seem cool (for the rpg nerd inside each one of us), are too clumsy and never feel like necessary (i'm sure you can finish the game easily without any of them.

I agree it plays well, but nothing to be remembered. Could have been much more, but like everything these days, it's meant to please the larger crowd, and those playing games for over 20 years just feel like they've played this 100 times before.

Just finished. Three times (I had to see the 3 different endings, didn't it? Very Happy)
Overall a really really fun game. story is cool, action has a nice pace, gfx were okay (I'm not a gfx whore so I don't care anyway).
Really reminded me of Bioshock in some parts.
One thing I have to bitch about is length. I don't know how long it took me but I guess it weren't even 10 hours so that's freaking short. Could have been longer, imo.

something concerning the ending(s):

You might be partially right. The only shooters I usually play are multiplayer shooters. I mean, crucify me now, but I never finished even one single half life game, because I got bored. I never finished the bioshocks either, I did finish system shock though.

What I mean is, single player shooter bore the shit out of me, and the last one I enjoyed, was FEAR (first), because I was scared shitless.

This game had a decent story, and good shooting mechanics. Now, the latter, fewer and fewer games have.

Yes, being a copy/paste is a valid argument, and I always promot originality, but this game stands out in these days FPS. This game is head and shoulders above today's shooters. Does that make it good? Perhaps, it surely means today's shooters are shit though.

You saved Barisov before you shot yourself in the head. Which means Demichev never killed him, and after demichev died, Barisov took the experiments forward. So all timelines are changed.

I THINK. But I don't remember now right.

All in all, if the timeline would NOT have changed, then it would have repeated, yes, that's why the only explanation I found, was the one I wrote above.

I'm not trying to make fun of you or anything, but for me FEAR was a pretty cheap game ( horror-wise, that is ). Did it scare you more than System Shock 1 or 2?

Hey, I was young ... but come to think of it, I was younger when I played the shocks, and I don't remember them scaring me a bit.

FEAR had ... good atmosphere, I can't put my finger on it, it was scary. Didn't ever replay it though, so don't know about today.

Yup, FEAR had a nice buildup, but it wasn't that scary for me.

The only games ever scared me real bad were the first 3 Silent Hill games. Since then only the Penumbra games came close.

I agree that comparing to todays shooters it's probably better then all combined, but it's not better than Half-life 2, Bioshock or Fear (not to mention system shock 2, that's from another league, deus ex league, when games were made for gamers, not for their children).

It has proper shooting mechanics, amen to that, most shooters fail right there, the story i'm not so sure.
