As Interplay continues to capitalize upon its backlog of classics, the publisher has announced that BioWare's humorous and humiliatingly difficult action game MDK2 is to be released as a WiiWare download, while PC gets a freshly minted MDK2 HD revamp.

It's an ancient game, most likely with default resolutions of 320x240 and 640x480. It may be a 3D game, but it still uses textures and other effects that were made for certain resolutions... simply "changing the resolution" to a higher one will often result in stretched and otherwise ugly looking textures. This "HD" re-release most likely has higher resolution everything Wink

Oh fuck.. I did it again didn't I? I'm ALWAYS doing that! Whenever I type 640 in regards to resolution, I always end up merging the bloody things...

Fixed Cool Face

Also, ATI will be able to do 3D + Eyefinity in the next driver, MDK2 in 3DHD? Very Happy

Sapphire demoed it on a single 5970 with a few games yesterday :>

My brother downloaded the Main Menu soundtrack a few days back and I listen to it at times.

Fun game. Have a lot of memories surrounding it.

I absolutely loved MDK, and I'm very curious to see this freshly minted HD revamp in action. As has already been said, I hope that it won't be only a matter of better resssssolution Smile

MDK = Massive Dying Knowledge!!! These games where so hard! I remember loving both games and feeling VERY PROUD when I beat them both. Going through Demon's Souls made me think of MDK! I hope they don't mess with the game and keep it exactly the same as it was. I just want HD with higher resolutions.

Screens.

Original for comparison, HD version is quite a improvement but I think it looks a bit "plastic" or what the term is. Razz

Yeah, weird material rendering, kinda like in Doom 3.

Oh well, I'm still very much looking forward to it!
