I just use IH to search for a torrent while I already know what I want and in that it does a perfect job.
I am not going to pay extra for usenet unless forced by new legislation.

I remember when i was 14 or 15, before torrents got popular (edonkey was just starting to get popular) hammering FTP servers trying to get in and grab a game Very Happy Ugh as annoying as torrents can be sometimes, way better than those old FTP search engines.

I use Isohunt when there's something particular I can't find on usenet or private trackers. It's my preferred public tracker.

hehe yea ftps were cool. i remember spending weeks in irc chatrooms watching adverts for someones site. waiting for that particular one so i could try to be the first one in. sometimes you'd even be lucky enough to have something they needed and could get an account for helping them out or by befriending them.

if only i'd known about NG all that time... so much time i could have saved. unless they were all filtered back then.
