Probably similar to most of the games out there right now... these days everything is playable on the tech of the past 2-3 years.

Those are the minimum requirements to run the game, see the logos and intro and the menu. You can then create a character and see a slideshow preview of the game.

Divinity 2 for a more light hearted RPG along with Arcania for something a bit more serious and then Two Worlds 2 as well, things look OK for open-ended lighter RPG's this year.
(Depending on final results when they are actually released of course.)
(Multi-platform and console focused as ever but some of the games do look fun and interesting if a bit streamlined and simplified perhaps, hard to say as Arcania is said to be very customizable going so far as to add a dark/bright look option - EU or US mode also called apparently - plus some videos do highlight other stuff like ticking help for quest arrows and compass and other stuff or disabling all of it, Divinity 2 Exp and Two Worlds 2 both seek to improve on their previous titles mistakes and weaknesses but again it's hard to say how it'll turn out.)
One month at a time though, Mafia 2 will hopefully prove entertaining and Kane and Lynch 2 might be a nice serious shooter.
(Unsure if Divinity 2 Flames launches this month or the next and that Elemental game looks very fine as well.)

My interest in this game has more to do with Risen (<3 that game) than with Gothic 3. Maybe I should give Gothic 3 a try then...

The boars were a problem with the games overall balance system, in particular the constant stun effect before being patched (One of the early official patches, wasn't fully fixed until the unofficial update.) made them very dangerous to even mid-level players since you couldn't do much at all.
I doubt we'll see something like that as it was somewhat of a oversight but a lot of European (Or eastern European in some cases.) titles tend to be a bit more demanding and challenging so the game might with a higher difficulty curve than how it's usually handled.
(Using earlier Gothic titles here and titles like Divinity, Drakensang, Two Worlds and a variety of eastern European titles, unsure how Spellbound will handle Gothic 4 but I hope it won't be too streamlined though it seems very customizable to how you want to have it, which is nice.)
(Nothing wrong with a challenge, finding a ogre or something in a cave losing the battle and retrying after leveling up a few times and gaining better stats and equipment feels better than where it's like everything adapts to the players current level or such, nothing wrong with gaining a huge reward for it either, though G3 failed a bit here as also part of the balance, you never used enemy weapons as they were worn - Ogre club did look funny though - and thus only worth for selling as they retained full value and treasures were rather rare as well aside from a few higher level equipment pieces or certain other valuables, said Ogre cave only had a few of their clubs and a low level chest and some herbs, might have been a unique weapon chest though which is a bit special if you find all of them as the loot gets better for each one you open.)
