Most of the times I just choose to ignore people's and society increansingly futility and stupidity, but sometimes I just feel like I want to scream, just when I start to think that people cannot go any lower, something makes you realize just how wrong you were.
I have an aunt 10 years older than me, some years ago, I could actually talk to her about subjects that hadn't anything to do with pop culture or anything of the sort, and she usually had a refined taste in the type of things she liked, but recently she is going increasingly more futile by the day, all she listens is to that lady gaga shit and things that I do not even know, (but apparently like she says, "everyone loves it")
Well, I'm posting this because I believe she has gone beyond everything I could ever expect.
She went and saw that Eclipse movie that you see advertised everywhere, and, according to her exact words "it was the best trilogy of all time", "nothing even comes close to it"
I never watched a single one of these movies, the trailers told me everything I needed to know, it was a over the top teenager crap featuring vampires and a human who most certainly fell in love.
I mean, I don't need to watch it to know it is just degrading to the intellect.
But how can someone who should actually know better, fall for this crap?

How old is she? Not married I guess? Guess she just recently realized she's getting old and is trying to desperately stay young by liking what's popular with teen girls these days.  |
She's 41, and no, she's not married, but not for lack of oppurtunity, she just always liked a more adventurous lifestyle, what you mentioned was a obvious emotional response, it could be expected that she enjoyed it or liked it, but from there to say that it was the best trilogy of all time and go even further and say that nothing even comes close to it, and to reafirm this statement several times, that is just uncomprehensible!

The lack of taste in this thread appals me. Gaga might possibly be the most talented singer rhis decade. So much sexyness and such a great voice is not easily found. The Twilight saga has a deep and engaging story, fleshed out characters and it perfectly portrays the complex emotional state of this gens youth (demeaningly called "emo" on this forum). What trilogy was better ffs? That homosexuality preaching drivel called LotR?

If you had not said she is ten years older than you I would have assumed you made a typing error and meant 14 not 41, for a supposedly intelligent and mature woman to stoop so low as to actually admit having absolutely no musical taste and worse still watches a film most girls would have stopped liking at about 15 is quite terrible! Are you sure she has not had some sort of brain seizure to turn this way? Or perhaps an early menopause?
Point out to her how ridiculous it is for a woman of her age (well anyone really) to enjoy this sort of trash.

In one sentence you were able to fully reveal your full intellectual extent!
First you begin by correlating Lady Gaga and Talent in one line and then you just go all the way to complete cognitive shutdown, not only you argue that one of the worst trilogies ever made is good and has some depth and you went further and say that one of the best critically praised and profound movies of all time are "homosexual preaching"?

seen the movies (like saturday night cinema day... dad we will pick the movies ... big fucking mistake)and read those books (hear them in audio format on one of my vacation trips with my kids ... dad we will pick the music ... :/) ... i am a parent that wants to know what my kids are doing ... and you know what , it would be a okish film if :
1. this book for 12-14 year olds would not be presented like a Harlequin soft porn book
2. movie looks like a soft porn with vampires for 12 year olds :/ ... what where they thinking
3. is a cheap plagiarisms of The Vampire Diaries
