I actually played batman with physx enabled yesterday. FPS remains in the 100s. Physx on batman is pointless though. Mirrors Edge is the only game worth playing with physx enabled.
I agree that trading a HD5870 for a GTX 400 series is stupid. I have a GTX 480 but I upgraded from a HD 4850. Its a really good card though. Dont know why people are bashing it without even owning one

Crysis sucks balls.

Tbh you didn't had to. You still can run everything out there with the 4850. I have a gtx280 and i still can, 'cause of the console ports.
And no, the 480gtx is not a good card. It would be if it didn't consume more than a 5970HD with less performance and if we didn't had to use water cooling with it during the summer to keep it fresh and quiet enough not to melt the PC or hear it's fan (or turbine).
If you had coupled another 4850 and made CF with them, you would be a lot better. The only thing i hate about ATI is the piss poor driver support, but they seem to be getting better.

Can the 8800 GTX even run PhysX? I remember back when I still had mine, because if had CUDA 1.0 and the other, newer GT had CUDA 1.1, so they hadn't made it possible to use if for CUDA. Have they fixed that?

Yeah, it's been fixed now. Originally only the G92s could run PhysX, but then nVidia put out a new driver set that also supported the G80s.

Physx has been great in a few games.
Batman was lots better with high physx...the scarecrow battles where particularly awesome.
Didn't care so much for it in just cause 2 though.

My mobo doesnt have CF capability unfortunately
I actually have a spare EVGA 8800GT SC too which I borrowed from a friend. I dont think he wants it back. Wish I had 2 PCI-E slots on my mobo though so I could actually use it

Are the smaller ones not considerably under clocked?
I guess if it's just for physx then it's not too important.

Have fun, you'll be able to see the same waving flags and smoke other games do without PhysX, impressive shit yo >_<
@ Slizza: No, that'll be the 9600 GSO and such. The GTS 250 is clocked identical to a 9800GTX+, but some companies (Palit for example) have released them with smaller PCBs and coolers. Think 9800GT PCB/fan, but with 9800GTX performance

@fugazi86
So what was the point of "OMG OMG OMG GUIZE SHOULD I BUY? YES? YES YOU SAY? I WANT TO but not sure SO SHOULD I BUY? YES? YES? YES? YES YOU SAY? YES?" if you wanted to buy it all along?
You remind me of that DV2 character, which pops up once in a while, asks something, then does the opposite of what people recommend.

Is Mafia 2 still a Game for Windows LIVE game, as announced earlier this year? Or they remove it in the meantime (i see the final front cover without the GFWL logo).
