It's supposed to. In fact 1.52 updates ARMA II to 1.07 if I'm reading correctly.

Dont think so mate. 1.07 was released a few days before OA came out and the 1.52 patch for OA contained some other fixes.

When I ran the patch it said "This will also update your copy of ARMA II to 1.07 if you have it installed"

Silver blue doesn't understand that just because a patch was released doesn't mean it was created that freaking day.

Facts & figures on obesity: Obesity is one the major health challenges worldwide and has become an epidemic over the last decades. Europe has the highest number of overweight and obese people in the world. The number of obese people has in fact tripled over the last 20 years in the Europe, according to the WHO. Today, over 130 million people are obese in Europe; approximately 10%-20% of men and 15%-25% of women. In addition, 400 million people are overweight in Europe.

Installation:
Not compatible with the Steam version of OA.
Run the patch exe to apply the patch setup automatically.
It will install all content of the patch to the folder with your ArmA 2 installation (default is C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2 or Bohemia Interactive\ArmA2).

Please note that it is not possible to rollback to a previous version after the installation of this patch, only a full reinstall of the game is possible, if you want to keep your previous version you may want to backup the entire game installation folder before applying this patch.

NOTE: This patch will also update your ARMA 2 1.05 to 1.07 if necessary.

http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=10922

So I'm guessing it only works if you have 1.05 installed, but yeah, it definitely installs 1.07.

No shit Sherlock? Rolling Eyes

The point is, the fixes were not put into OA because they were done after the master was sent to the manufacturing plant.

Do I need to create a Powerpoint presentation to explain this further?

so this is one of the titles who put new line and send people to upgrade machines?

(actualy, i am ok with that, but the visuals must be a very big jump from what we seen lately and acording the trailers, i am not so sure this is the case)

I'm surprised and disappointed to be honest, I felt they might have increased performance for this title. I've played ArmA II for ages and was really looking forward to this. I can run ArmA II on high settings, with AMD X3 440@3.0Ghz and 4Gb Corsair DDR3. Having said that, my GPU is only a 512 9800GT. This handles almost anything I throw at it for now, but I feel an(other) upgrade is needed more than ever.

Good thing is, I can throw a six core straight into my mobo for around £130 and as I bought a crossfire board I can throw a couple of low-mid range GPU's in there. Just need to find £400 from somewhere...

well reading the forums the latest patches seem to of made fps alot better and game more stable now regarding optimized stuff.. trouble is, there is plenty of posts like what ur saying around as well. I dont like it lol, I shall not buy unless I can be more sure that i can get some good playtime out of the standalone etc now they patched it up.. I might reinstall my arma2 see what the patches done to that..

Turning off mouth smoothing and post processing (which includes that terrible blur effect when you turn) obviously helped a lot. I know the game is cool (i was a OpF fanatic, loved Resistance too) but not worth it to me to upgrade for.

The last beta patches clearly show us, what they are intending to do. They are optimizing the engine for multi core. So it's not a question of being an I5 but more if you've a quad core or not. Of course I5 are more optimized than Core2Quad, which can help in performance.

Recommend to use -cpucount=2 for dual core and -cpucount=4 for quadcore Smile

Anyway, Takistan runns fine for me with high settings. Tho I have dual core so don't expect I run this on 60 fps, but for me it's smooth. But other hand Zagrabad with same settings is pretty laggy.
I like Takistan very much, played Warfare in MP most time, now finally tried campaign... reached to level 7, Campaign is pretty fun tho and decent Smile

http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php

Beta for OA, to be used after 1.52 (Unsure if it includes those changes, 1.52 is more of a hotfix whereas this is probably to add stuff similar to 1.07 for ArmA 2 and maybe more.)

EDIT: Needs 1.52, still calls itself 1.52 when installing but 1.06 and 1.07 beta's also called themselves 1.05 so that's expected. Smile
(Game works better but from 1.06 to 1.07 isn't that much of a step but still nice to see the devs so active and updating the game and so supportive to the community.)

I don't know if you have legit and/or using mods, but I read on BI forums that some ARMA II mods trigger this error, try turning off mods if you have them installed except the stock content.

Invalid (blacklisted by now.) serial probably, BIS are pretty active in that regards as well.
(How would the patch work anyhow without a new cracked EXE though?)

EDIT: Patch also added back the "kickback" to recoil so guns are much harder to control now unless handled carefully. Smile

Assuming that's what I think it is it seems some (AI) soldiers have started using it a bit too much after the latest update, I suppose it helps with stress though.

It's also going to be interesting to see where this unique vehicle will be appearing.

(Assuming it's used at all outside the editor/armory but it must have some purpose seeing it's unique appearance and speaking of that I also found a vehicle that's worse than the motorcycle, the normal bike - http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/5182/arma2oa2010070309154601.jpg though it's kinda given as it has no engine at all.)

EDIT: "Rocket jump"

(Quite the blast.)

EDIT: Animations seem a bit off at times, sometimes with hilarious results.

It's usually not bad (And though noticeable these are fairly minor problems.) but now and then some things do tend to bug a bit (Animation timings for example or sensitive and complex scripts or even model and texture data.), current version (Beta OA patch post 1.52) has worked out OK but it'll probably take some more updates to further work out the remaining problems and then minor issues and maybe optimize it further.
(It could do with a major engine overhaul for their next big title though I guess that will be Armada sometime next year.)
