I take back what I said about the Germany - Uruguay game. Compared to this display, that game was much better in terms of football quality and entertaining as well. Give the world cup to Germany or Uruguay for that matter. Still believe that 3rd place game itself is pointless but aleast those two teams gave a better account of themselves.

What a terrible match. Way too much whistling, half the yellow cards were total bullshit, and if we can get a yellow card for protesting with the ref, then Xavi should've been sent off like twice by now, with his diving and whining :/
That said, we sucked balls, but so did Spain. Can't call it a match anyway, every 30 seconds the game had to stop because of a "foul"

Both teams played dirty the first 30 minutes, it would've turned into a battlefield without the ref. Sure it's shit stopping the game every 5 minutes, but it was necessary.

I'd hardly call it playing dirty, a bit of body-checking isn't really dirty. What annoys me is how 80% of the cards were undeserved (and some were missed), give us the fucking video support FIFA, because Webb screwed up royally, for both sides.

well said, video support would be ideal for the free kick when it should have been a corner. Also for fucking exposing iniesta's acting.
Just like european championship '04, totally undeserved.

Wouldn't say that he was a dick, he screwed up the first one and was grabbed by Puyol in the second chance ( although that didn't seem enough to make him miss that chance ). He was whining a bit on the 2nd half of the extra time though.

Difference between Robben and Iniesta+Xavi is that Robben goes down, but doesn't pretend to be in agony for 2 minutes.
Iniesta is fine though, he played a good match. Xavi on the other hand really was a complete fucking dick. Diving excessively when tripping over his own clumsy feet, whining at the ref, and being unsportsman-like (van Bommel bodychecked him, he went down, van Bommel reaches out and he goes "fuck off"). We got a card for whining at the ref, why didn't that prick get one?
