*raises hand*
Well, I USED to... I'm not sure about these days since it's been quite a while since my last "general checkup" but yeah, I used to have high BP.

What did you do after you found out? I'm thinking I should try to eat healthier and exercise more.

Start working out 3 days a week, and start eating better. Once you get to the point where you don't have the high BP anymore, then start working out 2 days on 1 day off. Then move to 3 days on 1 day off. Do excerises like Crossfit, or just good old fashioned running followed by pullups/pushups/squats.
If you can get to the point where your body can handle crossfit 5 days a week - You'll be in damn good shape.
Example crossfit exercises for the first 3 days/1 off -
Day 1 -
Run 800 meters
50 Box Jumps
40 Push Presses
40 Sumo deadlift high pulls
50 Wall Ball
Run 800 meters
Day 2-
AMRAP 20 minutes:
Run 200 meters
21 Push Ups
12 Deadlifts
Day 3 -
Ten rounds for time of:
10 Pull-ups
10 Dips
10 Sit-ups
10 Squats
The majority of your diet should be protein and veggies/fruits. A good tip I learned a while back is that if you stick to the outside walls to the supermarket that is where you will find all the healthy stuff. All the aisles in between are the ones filled with the unhealthy processed crap.

Doctors are a waste of time. Unless you are bleeding profusely or missing a limb, dont do anything and you'll be better off.

Yep, I also have high blood pressure, and sometimes pulse goes up as well. As it is now, the doctor can't tell me why, though.

High blood pressure... not me. Healthy food and riding a gay ass bike a lot, it does help.

High blood pressure is due to thickness of the blood, therefore meaning you are unhealthy.
Eat correctly, cut down smoking if you smoke and exercise
Don't over do it though.
Take it easy at first.

thickness of the blood? Never heard of that one :\
Anywho you need to live healthier life, that goes without saying, but as I know, for high BP you need to take medication.
I have low blood pressure, which isn't that bad as high but damn I hate when I have blackouts because of it

I've had high bp for way over 6 years now.
I only drink coffee at night to go to sleep.
Used to drink red bulls at night to go to sleep. (not anymore :'( i miss the taste so much)
I always wake up early full of energy.
I don't see a flaw in high bp except of a possible heart explosion.
Every time before surgery or any medical shit, they go UH-OH and I go nah, that's normal for me.
mine usually go from 129-154 on a regular day.
I have those portable heartrate meters which i abuse almost everyday.
Sometimes I can get a steady heart rate and sometimes I'm dead.
I'm pretty fit. I can jog. Walk. Run. I can't swim. Tried it once couple weeks ago and almost drowned while trying to keep myself up with my right arm. I eat moderately healthy. Well, I have to more now ever since my gall bladder almost killed me.
Theescapist, maybe you have aids?
High BP don't usually always make you tired. I can go for 18 hours of physically demanding work and still be almost on time the next day. You could just be out of shape by a minute syllable. It could also be stress related (stfu stress can make you tired and give you high bp but stfu). Not enough rem sleep. Or even the heat.

High blood pressure can be caused by thicker blood if you eat a lot of sugar. However, it's mostly caused by the walls of your arteries/veins constricting more.

I have naturally higher blood pressure and heart rate - 140/10 and ~90bpm
I have been to many doctors and even had all the scans done to my hear. Nothing was found. So as long as my heart is not damaged, it's all cool.
The only bad thing is that I'm more of a sprinter type, not long distance runner. But I can handle swimming for longer periods... Strange.

I recognize the 90bpm and sprinter type, same for me. Must have got something to do with red and white muscle tissue?

Long distance running is 90% mental and 10% physical IMO. You just gotta deal with the pain. It has little to do with your lean muscle mass. If you are good at swimming that means you got the cardio. You just gotta push through the pain of distance running.

I used to have high BP too, Started riding a bike and some upper body strength training (jack-knifes, push-ups, etc), that was a couple years ago and now its back to normal... Docs gave me pills at first, but bugged the shit outta me that I had to depend on them, so I did somethin about it. Not only did I kick the high BP, but I can ride great distances and got in some killer shape to boot!

That's what I'm thinking about doing, getting a mountain bike and go downhill mountain biking again, I haven't done it in ages and I used to love it. I started getting some weird sensations in my head about 4 months ago and I can only assume that it is related to this BP crap, it's really annoying.

I've had it as well. I'm not sure where i currently stand with it. Visually I look very fit, however i probably can't run 5 blocks.
I smoke 1-2 packs of cigs a day, drink almost daily, and puff. Herb doesn't help with blood pressure it actually increases your heart rate.
One thing to remember is most peoples blood pressure is higher in the hospital. I'm not sure if this is a US related thing or everywhere. But typically when you are at the hospital you might be a bit nervous and etc.

120/86 That was my last result. I have been stressing a bit because I have been having weird feelings in my head, can't describe it because I can't find the words. Anxiety, maybe, fucking hate the shit, whatever it is/was. Feel a lot better now. Been eating really healthy recently. I'm 30 today! ... yesterday, 29th!
