So I bought a very cheap SC2 for half the price than normal to try the multiplayer. I finally gotten through initial 5 matches and I was assigned to Bronze league. It's been now 8 matches (some even under 5min long) and I lost all of them. When the supposed matchmaking balance should kick in. I'm seriously begining to think there is no worse RTS player than me. I would not be that surprised though, as I basically grown up on action games, not strategy games.

You should watch some youtube links. I had also problems to adjust to multiplayer because in single player i take it easy Very Happy

Its all about timing and placing the right buildings in the right time.

Still think that people are better off using the reloaded version / crack & sc2allin1. You can still play campaign same as always & with sc2allin1 you CAN play vs A.I AND custom maps, as well as all the retail ones. Which with razors you CANT you have to use the editor to load the custom map. The only maps you CAN load with razors version is the ones hosted by blizzard's servers.
Unless you have an account and upload the custom map to the server, then it MIGHT show up in the list.
Also not having to reapply the keytro every other day !

Here's something that might boggle your mind, sc2allin1 works also with Razor, crazy I know, right? So what was it that Reloaded has again that Razor doesn't? Laughing

How exactly is only needing external tool for custom maps worse than needing it for custom maps AND retail maps? Great logic there...

yes, it's all about repeating specific build orders. why people think it's fun is beyond me. it sucks all the life out of the game. but that is what happens with most online RTS's

No it's not Rolling Eyes There's a limitless pit of replays where people show different build orders and win easily, which should be ridiculously easy at bronze.

Except that you can actually create and test new build orders for different strategies. It's just that most "low level" people rather copy those of the better players to climb up the ladder faster.

something everyone should do, is play the challenges, they help a lot. Especially the ones with unit counters and rush counter (rush counter is in expert, but its quite easy, if you build correctly.) It basicly shows what to do first 5 minutes, which is usually enough to counter early rushs (usually zergling or zealots/gateway)

Well it's not Smile I'm currently at bronze on 89th place in my division, with awesome 12 matches and no wins on my account. Anyway I I'll give it another 50 or so matches and if I won't win any of that I'll probably sell the game.

I don't mind losing, one of the match was really great even though opponent kicked my ass eventually, but at least he gave me some time to build some army. Other people rush there with their 20 or so marines/zerglings and destroy my base within first five minutes. Those matches sucks and are boring.

Save the replays(if that's possible), post them somewhere(gamereplays maybe) and ask for insight. Anyway, getting army is the first thing you should do. Why not focus early on spewing units if that's how you keep getting ass kicked?
