A nice RTS title but nothing too revolutionary or unworldly as some are trying to imply. I really can't fathom all the fuss and racket when it comes to stacraft. I enjoyed it but more like in the range of 6/10 and nothing more. In my opinion, this game's unduly overrated.

7/10 for me.. good game but I wouldn't have been happy spending 60 bucks considering I dont play MP. The last mission was hard as fuck (but fun) even on normal for me, especially considering the rest of the game was too easy Rolling Eyes There was no build up of difficulty.. major design flaw in the campaign IMO.

They should have a separate tutorial campaign instead of starting off so slow.

Proves what a bunch of con merchants this blizzard studio is.
5 years in the making pull the fucking other one.
Command and conquer tiberium is virtually the same game.
I hope multiplayer saves this because the single campaign is utterly shit.

I loved the single player in this, ok the ending was abit rushed and dissapointing but generally it was good.

Waiting for protos/zerg expansion.

Because it's not THE ending and completely opens the story for the expansion. Expansion that we were supposed to play with Kerrigan.

I wonder how they want to make such a campaign with the Zerg. With the Protoss I could understand how they would create characters that you care for.
But with the Zerg, would you have Kerrigan run around some slimy Overseer and talk to Zerglings and Mutalisks? I don't think you would be able to sympathize with any Zerg character...

Yes, it's quite understandable that you are confused from concepts such as ground cover and unit formation.

from what i understand, you are supposed to micro your units "formation", also this is not new nor unkown to blizzard, im not saying blizzard invented it, but warcraft3 had something similar.

Battle.net (together with WoW servers) goes down every week for maintenance.

Regular maintenance I would guess, it's a rather huge network with all their titles and such stuff (Though different from the game servers no doubt to make things easier.) so it has to be maintained and kept updated and similar at regular intervals. Smile

I love walking around the ship talking to everyone between missions, great touch.

People complaining about no inovations well the game is almost exactly like Starcraft which was the goal I believe for blizzard so mission accomplished, the fans got what they wanted, if it ain't broken don't bloody mess with it.

OK so I never played Starcraft before and started playing Starcraft 2.

It is nice (animations, textures, mission design) but there are some things that really annoy me:

+ Why no formations? This would've been very helpful as some units like to stand INSIDE of each other. Units with long range should stay in the back and the others in front.

+ When you have ~20 units attacking a building then some of them attack and stay right on their place and the other 15 try to get around them to attack the target at the exact same distance... You can't imagine how stupid that looks and how ineffective this is...

+ At least in the single player mode it would have been nice to pause the game and give a queue of stuff to do, as the camera cant zoom out much and you have to jump around on the mini map like crazy to catch up with your units.

+ Selecting units can sometimes be a big pain in the ass.

---
This aren't things that would make the game more lol wut but would give you a bigger control over the masses.

F.e. I had a couple of those RCs with flamethrowers and sent them to my base. The repair units were intelligent enough to come and repair them (nice). But then I send out my units to attack (and I just select my group with RCs!) but the idiotic repair robots follow them outside, though I did never give them the order to be attached to my group :/

Still a very nice game. At the moment it would deserve 8/10 Smile

Actually, the "complaints" about the lack of innovation weren't directed towards the game - per se - but towards those Blizztards who touted SC2 as "the most innovative RTS ever!" Hell, even the DESIGNERS said they weren't trying to innovate anything, just improve on the original formula, but it didn't stop the Blizztards from proclaiming otherwise Razz

I missed those claims never expected anything innovative from this game, in all honesty innovation doesn't come from big companies, which are only after profit, but smaller ones somewhere in Russia.

Battle.net is down but everywhere I look it states it is actually up and working fine...

This is the only page I can find online which isn't even related to Blizzard which states which servers are up and down updated every 5 minutes here...

I've run the Starcraft II repair tool and even rebooted my router/modem still can't connect...

What sucks most is I was working on getting an achievement and suddenly I get a message I've lost connection to Battle.net, although everytime I start the game it states it is connecting to the update server but never updates...

Nobody says StarCraft II is "the most innovative RTS ever!". These are probably just voices in your head.

I did, and I don't see any Blizztards proclaiming it to be "the most innovative RTS ever!". There's just you repeating the same statement already some 30 pages ago.
