Outcast has the original resolution , no resolution modifcations which is a bit shit..
Master of orion 2 is rather slow and at time unresponsive...
Almost as if they said LOOK NO DRM and just re-released the originals

Not bad. I've already got Knights and merchants and Earth 2150. $25.92 for the rest of them hmm. Cheers for the heads up.

Some great games right there, Gog will turn into a monster one day I hope they won't get bought off by Microsoft and have all their games slapped with drm.

Jack Orlando must've been the first game I played for longer than 1 hour at my younger age, and the first that I finished.

Damn, shut down.
http://www.gog.com/ wrote: | Dear GOG users,
We have recently had to give serious thought to whether we could really keep GOG.com the way it is. We've debated on it for quite some time and, unfortunately, we've decided that GOG.com simply cannot remain in its current form.
We're very grateful for all support we've received from all of you in the past two years. Working on GOG.com was a great adventure for all of us and an unforgettable journey to the past, through the long and wonderful history of PC gaming.
This doesn't mean the idea behind GOG.com is gone forever. We're closing down the service and putting this era behind us as new challenges await.
On a technical note, this week we'll put in place a solution to allow everyone to re-download their games. Stay tuned to this page and follow us on Twitter and Facebook for updates.
All the best,
GOG.com Team |

From their twitter:
Quote: | Sometimes it's really hard being DRM-free... hard to keep things the way they are and keep management and publishers happy |
What does this mean? Did the publishers ask them to stop selling (in several cases 10+ year old!!) DRM free games because of piracy concerns?

I've never bought anything from them but their forums were an excellent resource on making old games run on modern systems.
And now they've deleted pretty much everything! And what about all the games their customers have bought? They have no way to re-download them now??
WTF!! Either they have been hacked and the message isn't real, or a publisher went crazy with their threats and ordered them to close their shop & site & forums ASAP?!!

I've bought a fair few games from them, so yeah.. I'm certainly hoping their promise of setting up a system where we can re-download our games is true.

The more I think about it, the more I'm leaning towards it being a sick prank by a dickless hacker. GOG.com is a BUSINESS and they were in the middle of a promotion, it goes against logic that they would suddenly - completely without warning or notice - shut down and close up shop. It's too outlandish.

Has anyone ever seen GOG's games, in the form they offer them (I guess they have a special installer or something?), online on torrent sites etc?
Something that could make the publishers claim that GOG's DRM free model makes pirating easy etc and that they lose money 'thanks' to GOG, etc...
Because if that's not the case (and personally I haven't found anything like this online) I can't imagine what the hell happened?!
edit Unless they were hacked, of course

I think you are right. It seems crazy to just shut it down without a few weeks notice. I mean, any serious business should be aware of their lack of success several months before they have to close shop.

I feel like crying, where the hell am I supposed to get good old games now? I don't have all the games I bought there on my comp atm, why should I? I had a great place to get them when I wanted. Its so unfair that honest and great digital services like this go out of business, but greedy crap like steam continues to grow bigger. The world is such a shit place sometimes.

Luckily plenty of rumours of this just being a marketing stunt, a very bad one but still, lets hope so.

Honestly they brought it on themselves. The idea and spirit of what they were doing was great when it started. After a while though they just started to add any ole game they could get their hands on which was quickly turning into just another digi download store.
Empire Earth, Blood Rayne and a few others, while Empire Earth was a good game it simply isn't an old classic, and while Blood Rayne...is um...a game....it certainly isn't good or old.
None the less they coulda just teamed up with Steam somehow or another.

Not to mention "Judge Dredd: Dredd vs Death" I mean... WHAT THE FUCK? That game, if it could be called that, was beyond a travesty. It was neither good nor old and it sure as hell had no place on GOG.com.

Publishers aren't interested in supplying you with the old games, once they've had their shelf life they're gone.
So pirate them and share them with as many as possible, GoG was a nice idea but ultimately it's been brought down by publisher greed.
Good old Games are worth sharing with your friends.

Smells like a publicity stunt indeed

Are you serious? So when they expanded their genre they are suddenly not good enough? And just like everyone else? Even when they brought in Empire earth or so called not "oldies" they STILL had the the great old games, and continued to bring other old games back.
And to that guy slating Judge Dredd, while YOU may not have liked the game, it may have been given poor review and sold bad, don't you think there are SOME guys who liked the game? What is wrong with having ONEEEEE place to get the game? Even though its not a world favorite.
Think before you write, I hate to be rude, but you are clueless!
Where the fuck I am going to buy lords of magic now? No other digital service has that game, and I bet there are tons of other games that is impossible to get now. So thats just okey because they sold games that was not incredible old? And because they had some poor games there that you did not like?
Brainwashed mainstream shit.
Du er jo norsk også sabin, herregud så skuffende.
