Silent Hunter III is not my kind of game, but if it should have SF3 on the NA version there is still the possibility of a fast release. As someone mentioned it earlier in this thread you can download SH3 from fileplanet through its d2d service on march the 22nd (see: http://www.direct2drive.com/productpages/sh3.aspx ) . Someone has just to download it and package it for release!

It also seems German version or entire European(EU) version of this game differs in some aspects such as swastikas possibly because on UBI forums players in germany been asking for US "uncut" data files...hmmmm

One problem though that I cannot explain.
How can this game be Starforce and problematic yet after March 22, direct2drive.com will be offering it for download, how would starforce work on downloadable SH3 US version?

well, im not sure, but i know some downloaded demos have starforce, so i dunno, i'm still gonna buy it if it aint out here by then =(

Yes but those demos didnt actually use starforce for any reason, they just installed it and thats it.

ah, always tought it was funny with a cd protection on a .exe file..
and yes, direct2drive is very legal
MI = MiniImage = a small small image file, much like a normal bin or iso file, but only used for getting a game to run by detecting the required cd-files on the miniimage, hence not taking up all the space of all the content on the cd thats not used by an installed game.

direct2drive games have a different copy protection than the store versions of those games. You need to authenticate with their server every time you install the game. The executables are not interchangable either (you can't use normal patches or expansions on direct2drive games too).

DPM cannot be read off a DVD yet

I jsut bought it!
Yea its starforce. Anyway to detect which version?
And yes its on dvd as well. Lets see if it explodes on me because of alcohol 120, nero and daemon tools

Post it if you have any problems, i'm l a bit cautious before buying a starforce game
