Interesting, nice with a new fighting game, still playing that arcade version hack from earlier from time to time.
(Wonder if this includes those DLC characters?)
EDIT: Ah no, my mistake, I had both titles confused in name as Blaz-Blue and then Blaz-Blue: Calamity Trigger as the recent sequel but it's Blaz-Blue: Calamity Trigger and Blaz-Blue: Continuum Shift.

Started unpacking it, I'll see if I can't answer the questions soon, didn't know it used LIVE though and keyboard play probably works as usual but I imagine a gamepad is ideal and will work much better, will see soon though.

It uses LIVE and it's a cross-platform game, you can battle with xbox360 players.

Nice, also as a bit of a fun thing they left the original installer via Game.msi (Japanese but not that difficult to use.) so you can skip Setup.exe (LIVE) which is helpful.
(Installer verifies the data first slowing stuff down a bit for example and you skip the cd-key stuff as well though that's just verification and not related to the live key system the game uses.)

So what you're saying is you can install and play the game without needing the GFWL client?

Ah no I should clarify that further just that I'm a bit bad at explaining.
Setup.exe ties to the .MSI but via LIVE interface and all it's features like scanning the setup data (Which can slow stuff down as it's five GB and several thousand smaller package files inside those four cab files.) and you skip the cd-key used to verifying game purchase.
(Those "0000" keys seem to be some default like with Windows Vista for entering a real key later, funny as well but it's not related to the key used to sign into LIVE and activate the game there or how to describe it.)
However the installer is originally in Japanese but you just press one button, set a patch to install and press another button and it's done so it's fairly simple and everything is installed correctly.
EDIT: The crack to explain that consists of BBCTStart.exe as a separate launcher and does not interfere with LIVE which ties to BBCT.exe, however starting said EXE directly most likely won't work, renaming the .exe.cat file might however disable LIVE entirely as it can't initialize since it has nothing to verify/hook or what to call it against but if the game can't manage this it'll just crash.
(Fallout3 is one example where this worked.)
(Ole33.dll might be just rld.dll but as a system file incase the game won't load it or has some block against rld.dll for some reason, LIVE has a few protection systems with for example crashing the game if you try to hook up a basic memory scanner to it like Cheatengine or TSearch, helps multiplayer fairness but isn't a very strong system since game data modifications are allowed like what happened in GTA IV initially.)
EDIT: Main menu launcher allows to set basics like what controller to use, only x360 controllers are allowed but this might be bypassable in some way.
(High or low definition videos, high by default, no other options at all.)
EDIT: It's a nice effort and it does manage 60 FPS at all time (Locked to it kinda.) but it is the most basic port to PC job done so far it seems.
EDIT: Nearly, some might be worse, this game has at least the ability to detect input device and will switch from showing X360 icons if a keyboard button is pressed at start, interesting way for it to initialize the control type.
EDIT: Ah the rest of the options, it's improving further.
(Resolution and some others, not much but even allows AA for some reason.)
EDIT: Heh there's people with 20k matches or so on the leaderboard.
(Tested some training as well, not too different from the hack release version but the AI sure can fight if given the ability to do so.)

It let me pick my usb adapter under the launcher, so I might not need the emulator. Going to try it ingame now.

Yes it does, which is the main reason why cross-platform with 360 works.

DisplaySettings.cfg in C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\ARC SYSTEM WORKS\BLAZBLUE-CT\Config\ should allow you to specify any resolution if the game options won't let you.

I guess it's the analogue vs digital control systems that cause this problem, diagonal movement for example is hard to pull off via keyboard though this game seems easier than say SF4 in terms of combos but it's still challenging due to the many smaller systems in place.
(Guards, countering, those other bars for powering up and unleashing a more powerful blow and such, it's simple to learn the basics but hard to fully master plus each character requires a different style of play to be most effective, tutorial helps though it takes a lot of practice to pull of certain moves effectively.)
