I enjoyed the story. However, I agree with Megaton basically being the most boring area in the game, an obstacle to get over before you get into the game.

I hate this engine with a passion, again everyone freezes when you talk to someone this 'bug' drags on from Oblivion, and the whole engine is 'sloppy' doesn't feel smooth like Rockstar's GTAIV and RDR or even Just Cause 2, if these guys can't build an engine they should buy one from Carmack.
ps and it looks ugly like a motherfuck!

They didn't, Gamebryo is a licensed engine.

You're right, surprisingly D2: Ego Draconis uses this engine, again not the smoothest gameplay but no one freezes when you initiate dialog so why don't they bloody fix it in Oblivion and Fallout

I call it a bug because it is annoying, no other rpg that is 3D does it like that ex. Witcher of Gothic, half the fun in Ego Draconis was watching your creature piss on someone in the background while you talk to someone
Someone may laugh but the freezing part completely ruins the game experience for me, it's very unrealistic and the world feels fake.

But it enables you to talk to people without getting butchered by some hostile npc.
Never seen it as that big a problem. *shrug* to each his own.

Well you may call it that all you want but it still doesn't make it a bug.

Never seen it as that big a problem. *shrug* to each his own. | Ever played Outcast you talk to someone and you get attacked, guess what happens, the dialog is automatically interrupted (you get kicked out of it) your 'dialog partner' starts running and screaming for his life and battle commences, best feature ever, now that's what I'm talking about bitches if Fallout had this it would be one hell of a feature!

Uhm, what??? GTAIV felt "smooth" to you with it's horrible performance, pixellated shadows, constant loading system that created micro stuttering etc. etc. etc.??!

I just think it's sad that Bethesda never bothered to fix Oblivion or Fallout 3. There is simply to much crap to contend with when you want to play those games.
It's fine that they made the games mod friendly, but it seems that they did that hoping that the geeks would fix the games themselves.
And I guess the bug/bad performance fest will continue in New Vegas, unfortunately as I have never been able to play these games without a lot of shit happening over and over again.

The engine for F3 has some strange compatibility issues, I had radio stuttering and looping, I'd only hear 2 different songs per station
That was because AC3Filter was installed, I changed a codec setting and all was good but I had to uninstall a lot of codecs and apps until I pinned down the problem
It's been years since I had any problem like that with a game
No performance problems here after I upgraded my 7950GT, Oblivion did try to burn out my 6800 though, 102°C, a bit too high I thought
I enjoyed F3, it was not as great as people made it out to be but was very good at times
Looking forward to this one

If Fallout3 or Oblivion just had better or smoother animations overall, it would make both games sooooo much more fun to play. The animations are just so shitty and for some reason most people just don't notice it. Like one of those subtle things that bothers you while your playing but you dont think about because your so involved in the game.

Yeah, the one I have the most issues with is the dreadful running animation - in itself it's already stiff, but the fact that it just sort of glides over all terrain instead of reacting more realistically like in many other games these days is what kills 3rd person for me. Fortunately I prefer the 1st person anyway, but for future games Bethesda should really work on their animation.

I'm with you on this one inz - their engine is pretty damn good, it's the animations they need to work on. Speaking of bethesda - any news of Elderscrolls 5?

They recently said they weren't working on Elderscrolls 5 but would probably do it in the future. :/

Not even a peep. I think it was early this year/late '09 that Bethesda trademarked 'Skyrim', and everyone started speculating that the next game would be set there (the Nord homeland), but then again Bethesda holds the copyrights for almost all region names of Tamriel so I wouldn't read too much into it.
And that TES novel that was released last year apparently had a tiny spoiler that revealed how the next game would be set 200 years after the events of Oblivion, but again who knows.
