Athlon XP 2.1ghz/266mhz FSB (gotta retire this soon)

I'm very impressed with this game. Of course, I won't be ready to buy it until i've gotten a chance to try the multiplayer. Luckily, theres a multiplayer demo coming out soonish. There are tons of similarities to CoD, but that's fine, CoD was a great game. CoD + Tactical elements + Squad control = Good. Who cares if its the same shit, that's a good combo.

Loading on the pc version is pretty fast (1gb ram here). Not as fast as republic commando, but fast enough so it doesn't botter me.

Loading times are like HL2 if not worse (1GB dual DDR, fast HDD), small areas and invisible barriers almost everywhere. That really hurts the immersion (and that's what these games are all about). I'd give it 7.5/10 so far (6 missions).

Are your loading times less than a minute? Cause on mine I haven't had a loading screen under a minute with the average being close to 2 minutes. I have a AMD 3200 and 1gig of ram so I doubt that's what's causing the long load times. Did you install the 1.2 patch, cause I did. Wonder if that's the problem. Usually loading times don't bother me but 2+ minutes is kinda frustrating.

Forgot to mention also that during the loading there is not much hd activity going on. Just the red bar slowly moves across the screen until about 75% of the way then quickly finishes the rest of the loading in a couple of seconds.

I just opened the game and clocked a loadtime.
It was from the first checkpoint (when you actually get to control your character) from that level where you first get to command a tank.
24 seconds load time, unpatched.

Thanks for that. Looks like there is something wrong with mine then. I think I might try reinstalling the game without the patch. I like the game but the long load times just ruin it for me.

Hmmm, wonder what else it could be. What kind of video card do you have? I have a Radeon 9800 Pro. My driver isn't up to date so maybe I'll try that first.

ok lets get this sorted.
BIA sound worse than COD? be quiet please the sound is crisp clear here and you can actually distinguish which side the sound is coming from, i found myself on COD looking left when it was actually supposed to be right (in multiplayer especially). 2ndly its your own fault if you cant aim for shit. 3rdly you played 1 chapter? the first chapter is literally rjump over a log and run to mac Rolling Eyes 4th. wait until you get onto some town missions where they have anti tank guns really puts the pressure on to keep moving and taking out 4 small enemy bases. 5. This game is so simple to control and is perfect especially with the smart "supressing" and "assault teams" 6. my load times are no more than 5 seconds and i dont have lag 7. Im playing on low settings but this game is perfect graphics wise i really think they hit the nail on the head. in games like cod its far too easy to locate enemies annd they can be killed in 3 burst sprint shots and and games like MOHPA make it far too hard to find enemies, this is 1 of the main reasons why i didtnt like mohpa.

anyway enough of me proving idiotic people wrong.
here's a nice image i same across and i had to print screen Very Happy

im on d-day plus 3 now i think back to the game Very Happy

I was around 5-15 seconds load time for each of the first 4 levels, that was with the patched version.

Nice to see that they have touched up the graphics on the pc version, it was always gonna look better of course but they got rid of some slightly annoying things about the xbox version namely the fact that the grenades looked like kiwi fruits and the characters helmet straps made them look like they were wearing an earing/eighties throwbacks - the higher res of the pc version clearly shows them as being helmet straps.

ok, just updated my video drivers and it seems to have lowered the loading time. I actually got to see one finish in about 45 seconds but the average is still about a minute. It might also be that the current missions I'm on require less loading so the drivers might have had no impact. As for defragging, I actually did it last night after a couple of missions to see if it would help but there was no change at all. I'm gonna reinstall now and see if that helps.

UPDATE!!!! Read my next message before reinstalling if you have long load times!!!

I was using 1.02 and the latest catalyst drivers for a radeon 9800 pro.

I just uninstalled and reinstalled without the 1.02 patch and the loading is very fast now! The difference is night and day. I'm not going to apply the 1.02 patch just in case that's what caused it in the first place. At least now I can enjoy this game without having to take 2 minute breaks everytime I finish a mission.

Looks like I celebrated too soon after reinstalling. After I posted my last message, I went to go play and the minute plus loading times came back. But now I have found what was causing it. Having vsync turned on is the culprit.

So you are having long load times make sure vsync is turned off! I wish I would have figured it out before doing the driver updates and reinstallation grinhurt

well hi guys! here is my opinion on the game!

first of all, im a big fan of WWII FPS games! and iv played all of em!

i got p4 3.2
1.5 Dualddram
ati9800Xt

i run the game with max detail on 1024 res. ( which is my preffeed res) on all games.

well ive played few hours now! and im past that church mission and some beyond it.

so far , i like the gameplay! i like it that u cant just rush and kill em all! i tryed i ended being killed and owned by those germans! hehe!
the squad based tactic idea is great and can be diffivult to task sometimes!

one thing i am bit disspointed n though, is the graphis is lot too pcish!
compared to COD, i think Bia is not good. i mean i got all maxed out! and trees and bushes still flat. and the fingers are triangled n stuff liek typical pc ya know! but in COD i felt like it was eal bushes treess. and the men and figures were round etc..

and another thing, the feeling of the rifle being shot, is not quiet there, i think! in COD i could feel it when i shot MG. with the heavy recoiled weapon!

the sounds are good, no problem there!

other than that i dont have any complaint ot what so ever.
the game is great! allthough i hope to see some cool stuff soon! and some really nice action!

if not then the game is being overhyped!

carry on peepos

HAHAHAHAHA....ya right...might work if the game was made 4 years ago

And would you please tell us how the fuck a gamer still have a freakin 32mb card????

The game will run like shit on a 64mb and im pretty sure your 32mb will not have what the games need to run

lol the MG42? well compare it to any other gun and that just seems out of place. compare the mg42 and the machine guns on BIA. compare the 42's and we all know the 1 on bia is sooooooo much better, looks wise and the way it works. and the intricate sound details is amazing on BIA

I must say I like the game. The graphics are not top notch indeed, but they are allright. Not too good, not too bad. But the gameplay is nice. I really like the fact there is no crosshair. What I do not like is damages. I think you can get too much damage and it does not affect you (I bet this is fixed on authentic level, cannot play it so far). Throwing grenades is kinda tricky.

a rather annoying thing is that you never get to keep anything between levels. for instance your grenades, i notice that i save them so that i can get rid of enemy tanks more quickly (bazooka-type weapons take to long, and friendly tanks can't hit anything), yet on the levels that have enemy tanks my grenade counter is magically turned down to exactly enough to take out them, not a single grenade more. i've only found one grenade-box that you could resupply from in the whole game.

and your other weapons, on one level you have the garand rifle and the pistol, then suddenly on the next level you have the garand and the thompson, then on the next it's the carbine and the pistol. the pistol is crap..

and why does it take so long to reload your last savepoint, why does the whole level have to be loaded again? all of it should already be there, shouldn't it?

and why is the grenade-button so close to everything else, on the xbox i managed to throw grenades a couple of times when i was really going to switch teams, now it's right next to the reload/plant satchel. (That's another annoying thing, why the hell does the plant satchel have to be combined with the reload?, more than once i ran out in the field to blow the poles, and ended up reloading my stupid weapon because i had fired a shot or two with it)

i don't know, maybe i'm just seeing all the bad things because i had my hopes up really high for this game, i've played it 4 times now and i wouldn't have done that if the game was crap.

I checked it out, looks like it is only possible to do a 1vs1 or 2vs2. Maybe the next patch they will allow for more players in Multi.

BTW: Does anyone know where I can get the console commands, and how do you enable console in the game?
