Nero will do the job. Your DVD Burner needs to support Dual-Layer Discs before it will burn one in Nero.
I remember MGS2 (8GB). I wonder if there is a way to split the game on two discs?
One for Install
One for Playing |
on what speed can i burn it? |
That depends on what speed your DVD Media will record at....
Since this is a DVD+DL, you will burn it at 2.4x

Tried to ripped out some useless files. I only can remove some sound files which are language files. but it is only about 300mb-400mb. it seems .cab files still have some language files in it but I don't know how I can open/edit those cab. files
I tried use WINRAR, WINZIP, and ALZIP. None of them working...
Any Idea?

Can anyone ensure that they can simulate LAN over Internet so MP is possible? It should be as there are some tunnelling software to make it possible! Further, try it via a Router/NAT as well to see what we're up against.

yep, really awesome game, runs great here, the only thing is if like 2 huge buildings like the refinery and oil derrik (small but hell it burns alot) are on the verge of being destroyed at once, kinda slowing down there but absolutely playable. And the nuke, lol dropped to 8fps there, but fuck worth it, all that smoke crazy devs!
But i've turned down the shadows to medium because, 1, its hardly noticeable but i do gain like 4fps (W00t!!!) 2, it kinda makes em not so knifesharp anymore.
To the guy who said inifinite resources, well almost, 60k in each oilwell, banks are not availible for all sides, so the only thing really to be sure of is the capture thing, but i played a skirmish as us army and didnt really have any problems with just 7 prisoners so no biggie.

Do u guys still think that some group will RIP this game and put a smaller version of the game (that fits in a "normal" DVD)?
I want to download it to try the game before i buy it, but i don't know if i wait a little longer, or if i burn in a dual layer DVD. What do u guys think?

Do the marines still look like goofballs when they run?
That animation always bothered me something awful in the beta. I hope their art has improved to the final version.

holysinBR - Very nice graphics with the options you are uing.
Crap, the cheapest DL media I can find here is for 10$ + shipping. I'm not sure if It's worth it. It's nearly 1/5 of the game retail price. How much are you paying for DL discs?

razor1394(whatever number); the only graphical settings u can change are shadows and textures and resolution, textures gotta be at max, we all know that
So it always looks as pretty as on his screen =) If it is choppy for u, set shadows to low, will look butt ugly but smooth, medium might do it (looks like high but a bit lower res stencil shadows.
WTH is wrong with this game tough?! its sooo fookin perfect, if some of u remember my old whine whine thread about todays rts and how old ones were better, damn..
1. In here, the defensive structures are tough, a railgun kills a tank in 2 hits (1 and 1/3 actually), there are SUPERWEAPON COUNTERMEASURES!!
2. There are fookin spectacular SUPERWEAPONS that FITS IN WITH THE WORLD.
3. There are JUST enugh units to have plenty of stuff but still maintaining a very high lvl of uniqueness to each unit and its role! MANY buildings!!
4. Big maps, enugh space to build and expand.
5. The SCALE is good!
6 and most important. ALOT of resources (60k) in each resource spot, + banks on what maps have it and one crucial thing.
If you wanna be a basehugger (defender, 1 base, thats it. i find this to be alot of fun myself), you just gotta get some prisoners asap, and woila, 500+ credits per.... 30sec? God damn genious, a building+units that generate cash, if u loose it without the cash to rebuild it and capture new prisoners, of course u are forced to expand or die. Just like C&C Generals hackers or dropzones, fuckin genious!!!!
BTW peeps, can you use the actofwar_directaction_patch1b.exe patch without needing a new crack? I could just try myself but, im sure someone has already =)

All you guys complaining how the game is DVD9 and that the discs are expensive and so on, why don't you just use DEAMON Tools?
I can't even remember the last time I burnt a game, it's been years.

Well, not exactly, when i first booted it up, i tought that the US Army was a bit like a low tech version of USA in generals, and that The Consortium was like GLA, and that Task Force Talon was like the high tech USA in generals.
But no, all 3 are modern tech or higher.
US Army is the lowest one, they use mostly normal tanks and stuff, u wanna bomb, use B2 bombers, u wanna go head on, use the good old M1A2 Abrams.
Task Force Talon is the high tech doods, odd tanks that can change themselves etc.
But still i think that The Consortium is the highest tech side, even tough they are the "Terrorist unknown faction" and are a very poor in the beginning, then you research the Revealed state, wablamo stealth tanks with railguns and shit Me Like!
hehe same here rawsteez, deamon tools for everything!

You must have a very large HDD...
What do you do when you run out of space?
I don't have a problem with the size of this game.
And yes! The discs are not on the cheap side at the moment. Most of us have other expenses in life.
