Crashes for after the square enix logo, tried the openal fix but no workie. Got 10.5a drivers and the demo worked just fine. Any clues?
edit: setting the exe to xp sp3 compatibility worked.
edit2: i dont get more than 40fps, damn ati :S

There's no profile (CF as such hasn't worked really well since 10.5a though.), try to disable Catalyst AI and if possible (As you use a cracked version.) also try the Kane and Lynch 1 EXE filename.
Framerate was fine for me but it took just under four hours at "hard" to complete it, not much else to complain about. (That hasn't already been mentioned, OK shooter but can't hold up to the competition despite interesting "features" like the camera effects and darker theme though it feels mostly chaotic, all DLC so far listed are MP only as well so who knows what'll happen, new game in a year maybe?)
EDIT: If you move around a bit as your character blocks out the pixel effect you can see past certain things, however there isn't any actual gore or nudity (Barbie doll like.) and wounds is just decals (Nearly the same decal as in the first game even.) whereas the pixel effect tries to enhance this, it's a interesting feature but it gets a bit too blurry and pixelated at times.
(Especially when you get hit yourself which'll happen often at the later levels due to the AI zapping from cover to cover and the amount of them plus that only heavy rifles and pistols have any decent accuracy over range and that it'll take two shots minimum to the head to kill unless point blank with a heavier pistol or a shotgun.)

Both this and the Mafia 2 demo ran a bit choppy at 1280x960 res and no AA for me.
Is it a sign that my pc is getting outdated or are these games just poorly optimized I wonder?
My specs:
4gb ram, GeForce GTX 260 896MB and Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz cpu.

It probably means you had physx turned on in Mafia II without tweaking it a bit.
Not sure why it ran choppy on Kane&Lynch.

Are the redistributable files installed?
(VC++ and DirectX, I'd recommend the latest versions from Microsofts website instead but the bundled stuff should work.)
Also is something blocking the modified steam_api.dll file and do you use UAC which can hinder certain actions in order to increase user safety.
(Can't read and write to certain key areas unless run as a administrator account, right click run as administrator, mostly.)

Tried it on hardest and I gave up after half an hour. Weapons feel like I'm throwing fucking vegetables on enemies, while they are equipped with magical smg's that 3-shot me from half the map.

Exactly.
Fucking perfect aim by the enemies, no matter where you are. Hell, I get killed behind cover pretty easily.

I can totally imagine that. I mean even on medium difficulty one or two of the final sections were bloody tough and our guns would recoil so bad from like 5cm away from the enemy whereas their aim would be frikkin perfect from 50 meters away!! Wow... and the less said about the ending the better. Wow, Kane and Lynch has always had weirdly disjointed stories....
1 and 2 are still amazing. |

Well, I enjoy the game. It's short as fuck and the ending is crap but the actual gameplay is nice. I bought it after "trying the full version".
