Performance hasn't changed much for me, compared to the early parts of the game the actual city is a bit more detailed and much larger though so that might explain it.
(Less shooting and physx particles, for now, so performance has technically improved a bit.)

Doesn't seem like it, no longer has that Steam_Api.dll included either.

no problems at all here with performance ( without those physics of course ) and no crackissues either, played a couple of chapters.
used steamapi from kane and linch to start the game tho.

Ok, now I feel stupid - do I have unpack the installation files on the ISO in order to "install" it? It's the only thing I can think of when it requires Steam and a CD-key.. if so, which app is best suitable for unpacking?

why after the initial logo i got black screen? Any help? I've updated drivers, physix and directX...still no luck

Got it. Working properly. Glad I got the repack version and didn't need all that SIM unpacking software. The crack works properly so far. Hope it's the same till the end of the game.

Yeah.. But the thing is, is that at 6.2gb unpacked it gives me an error saying the following, "Unsupported "Registry" entry type dword"
Could you check what the size is on your Mafia 2 folder so I (and others) can compare?

That's a bug with the Phoenix Launcher utility, unpack is still OK.
(If you took the four content packages plus the language you want to use, about 5.7 GB or so.)

it's german, sorry for that ... but it works great. did the "remove all apex clothing except from vito" and my framerate is near 60 with max. details, 8x af and aa off.
very playable ... me likes!
folder size:
7,38 GB (7.933.452.319 Bytes)
i used phoenix 1.3 ( 1.4 beta is avaible for download! ) to unpack ... works like a charme.
another question: how can i change the language? crerate a language.txt and enter my fav. language won't work ( like kane and lynch 2 ). any suggestions?
